I guess it is a lose-lose situation! I support one guy, I am in a man crush I support the other, to show that im not biased, I have a man crush! I like LSU... as a SCHOOL... as a PROGRAM! as the FLAGSHIP SCHOOL OF LOUISIANA... your a great poster... but dude you don't need to constantly be in attack mode...
nah you've not seen me attack yet. I will tell you when i do. im bored and stuck at work due to a network problem and was called out and of course, entertaining myself as i wait for worldcom to call me back. or is it worldcom anymore. i forget. ( i bet 157 can tell me)
Well things like not setting his feet, doing too much, not having enough confidence lends me to believe that he didn't have a full grasp of the book yet. He didn't have confidence in what he was supposed to do as far as making the right reads were concerned.
If JR hasn't been taught to set his feet yet then I doubt they've even discussed the playbook with him. Here's your feet, here's the ground...repeat.
I'm sorry. Sorry to myself only, of course, since nobody else really cares what I think of the LSU QB race, but I'm still sorry nonetheless. Yep, I'm guilty of falling lockstep into the "JR is a lock, he's the natural pick" mindset this offseason. He's bigger, stronger...he's the Parade All-American from Alabama whose time had come, not the talented yet overshadowed kid from Texas. All this chaged with the news about JR's less than impressive, uh, offseason "conditioning" work. Dude, you're the lead horse in the race to be the man---sorry T-H-E M-A-N---on a national championship-caliber team...and you pack on at least 20 pounds in what is the most critical offseason of your life? WTF? Where's the "leadership" in that kind of performance? JR has great physical ability, sure, but from a leadership standpoint the word in the press is he comes across as kinda soft-spoken, he's said not to be the rah-rah, in your face type already. Straight up, he sounds like he could be just a fatter version of Aaron Brooks. I hope I'm wrong, because all I want is for this team to win every time they play this season, but if I'm not I'm glad that there is a Matt Flynn ready (apparently) and willing to pick up the slack...and a Ryan Perrilloux lurking in the shadows as well.
 You said that with such conviction, too. Almost seemed sincere. "won't play before his senior season"...LOL. Now I know funny, and that's funny!
Tejas, Russell's weight has been discussed more than I care to bring up, so I'll leave your silly comments alone. As far as why Perrilloux is being left out of the QB race... He started practice with our coaches, what? 3 DAYS AGO!? How can any reasonable person at this point in time say that he would have a good shot at being the starter in 20 days or whatever it is over two guys, each with 2 years of experience & on-the-field playing time? Flynn vs JaMarcus: Flynn has been doing great at practice I hear - wonderful news. I'm pretty sure he did good at practice last year too & look at his game time performances. That's why I support JaMarcus, because even though he was inconsistent last year - atleast he proved he could do SOMETHING with our offense. If Flynn gets the starting nodd at QB, I'll support him.
I am sick of hearing about how RP has loads more potential and upside than JR or MF. Explain to me how so ? He has never stepped on the field in the SEC. We have no idea what he may or may not do when he gets a chance to play.
