First thing....... The editor of Geaux mag is a friend of Matt Flynn.

Second thing...... Matt is currently getting about 35% of all snaps in practice. This is no different than the way Les Miles rotated his qb's at OSU during the two-a-days.......

I am sick of hearing about Russell's weight, he came in at 252.....Jimbo said in an article yesterday that he is very pleased with Russell's weight and health.

If LSU is going to make a run at a NC this year, it will be with Russell at QB. While Flynn and RP might be talented, they don't have the experience needed. Anyone who thinks that RP or Flynn are just going to step in and bring us to the promise land is crazy. While Russell did have some low points last year, I beleive his high points heavily outweighed his low ones.....Russell will be GREATLY improved from last season.

Here is a very good article from the advocate from yesterday about Russell for those of you who didn't get to read it. Make sure you look at the pic of Russell, if you think that is fat your nuts.

I'm trying to understand, what does this not being different from the way LES rotated his qb's at OSU imply?

    upsizin,

You're acting like he committed to LSU with three other top QB's already committed in his recruiting class.

If he gets redshirted this is all moot...

No one wants to think it, but RP will NOT redshirt. Miles has said it himself.

Also, don't worry about Ryan not seeing the field. He will see the field this year & following years regardless of when he becomes the starter.

while I don't think he will take it.....a redshirt year would be one of his best decisions, 2nd only to coming to LSU.

Absolutely outstanding article, and it should end a lot of this nonsense bickering about the QB. Couple of interesting points: I forgot about Jimbo Fisher's coaching of Dameyune Craig...that guy was either a stud or we were just terrible. Also, the physical comparisons between Russell and other big QBs are hilarious. Ro was up to 270? Wow...

You can tell it's that time of year, with people clamoring to make a mountain out of a mole hill on Russell's weight, and completely ignoring his overall size in the process.

What position will he play, QB?

Waste a shirt so he can hand the ball off while we're up 30 in the 4th qtr?
unless an abortion occurs at the QB position, RP won't get playing time at QB at LSU in 2005 (he will redshirt)... I doubt RP wants to waste a year so he can play some other position or play QB when the game is way out of reach......
