Re: Flynn mighty fine mopping up at QB I don't read it where he is suggesting a two QB system at all. He mentions that the season is too far gone to make any significant changes at QB. However, he seems to broaching the subject we are discussing here... It is possible that Flynn may be the better QB for the Tigers and Miles needs to consider this in the future.
Re: Flynn mighty fine mopping up at QB In the quote I posted, did he not suggest putting in Flynn if Russell is struggling? This would indeed be a 2 QB, rotating system.
You may be right but I read it differently. I felt he used several disclaimers about the situation pointing out that nothing was going to happen because JR is not playing badly. And I didn't see any mention of the rotation. I just saw Flynn taking his rightful place as the starter on a permanent basis.
i think some people were implying, maybe, that if Flynn had started all season, we wouldnt have needed to have a 4th and game play... and we'd also be undefeated... who knows... im a happy fan right now, but human nature is curious...
JR does a fine job too SF so dont get your panties in a wad. BTW they usually go off the score at the end of the game, not how many throws were made off the QB's back foot. front foot back foot upside down..... who cares? Touch downs and completetions is how you get there. We have a good Qb and a good back up, that was the "spirit" of this thread.
didnt read this big long thread, but was curious if anyone else noticed that our receivers didnt have to fall down to catch the ball because it was thrown with the correct "touch". sometimes i wonder if JR has the ability to throw the ball without making it whistle.
I sometime wonder if Bowe can catch a ball without falling down. He seems to be the only receiver that falls to the ground after every catch. I don't see blaming JR for that!
JR throws with plenty of touch when it's needed. Rewatch the past few games & you'll see that the only time JaMarcus hums the ball is straight shot throws in tight situations for the most part - and that's the right time for them. When the throw requires touch, like on bubble screens & passes over our receivers shoulder JaMarcus does a find job of it (Now Flynn might be slightly better, but JaMarcus is good enough at it). And if our receivers can't catch JaMarcus's throws then they won't make it on the next level.
