    The media, in all forms, sucks. You have people who can allegedly write well and compose providing opinions on subjects they many times know little about without having (for the most part) their opinions challenged. Take this story as an example. Is an opposing view going to be posted ? No. So the BS in the story lives on ! I'll take Miles and all of his shortcmings.

    I love our astonishingly stupid head coach.

    You know why?

    Beloved genius Number 1: Pete Carroll, USC --> not in National Championship game;

    Beloved genius Number 2: Jim Tressel, Ohio State, alleged appearance in National Title Game last year proved to be hallucination; will not be in Natonal Title Game this year by halftime;

    Beloved genius Number 3: Bob Stoops, OU --> not in National Championship game;

    Beloved genius Number 4: Mark Richt, Georgia --> not in National Championship game;

    Astonishingle stupid Les Miles --> in Title Game in his third year.

    I was going to say that you left Charlie Weis off the list. Then I noticed that you only listed "Beloved Geniuses". I guess you thought including the category "Super Awesome Genius Who is So Superly Awesome That He Can Only Coach The Most Super Awesome Football Team In All History" would be kind of piling onto the media. That's nice in an old school way. I like that :thumb: .

    zemek's defense of the media in this case deserves quite a bit of value in this case because he (and many of the other cfn writers) regularly rebuke other members of the media. i would consider him a hostile witness for the media.

    Speaking from the heart is a language in it's self. Speaking well spoken and intelligently comes from the brain. As Skip Bertman says in today's Advocate, he wishes everyone could here Coach Miles in the Locker Room talking to his players. He's one of the best and the players relate and respond to him. I trust what Skip is saying is true. We have the best 3 year results ever for a coach at LSU. I could give a Rat's A$$ what anyone else thinks. Emotion wins games.

    I'm really surprised at how hard the media is coming after a good guy for doing the right thing. They have zero evidence that he did anything other than exactly what he said yet they attack him like a pack of rabid dogs. It's really hard to put a finger on the reason why. Maybe it's that the sleazeball media are taken by surprise by someone honest with integrity that isn't a bottom feeder like most of them. Whatever the reason it sure is sad to watch when there are so many dishonest and corrupt members of the coaching fraternity that they could focus their fire towards.

    Unbelievable! We have a pack mentality media (Rush Limbaugh's term -- "drive-by media" -- is a perfect fit) that sets the scenario -- Miles must be the next UM coach. Then one calls Miles a "liar" and now this one says he's "astonishingly stupid" for basically doing no more than not living up to the story they wrote and reported before it ever happened. I guess I should say people like Zemek make me embarrassed to be part of the media, but then I remember that I have no responsibility for him anyway.
