I decided to watch the Lakers tonight because of Shaq. Gary Payton just got ejected from the game, this is the 2nd time I've seen this happen this year and I don't watch the Lakers everytime there on either. They just announced Maurice Carter, the rookie from LSU is on for the Lakers..... I recognise the name but why don't I remember him playing? He is a left hander...... He hit the 1st shot he took.....jumpshot
Did a little searching. Here's a link to his bio talks about his LSU days. http://www.nba.com/lakers/news/carter_030813.html
Its been a while, that explains it..... During the black years I didn't have satelite so I had cable here which didn't show many, if any LSU basketball games during those years. The gameplans weren't available where I lived then...
Mo Carter was my fav. player he got better every year he played his scoring went up a few points year after year he was a top SEc player his senior season.
He definitely would've gotten more pub on a better team. For a guard, he was strong around the basket but didn't have that quick first step (at least back then). I liked his game though. He played at the REC a lot in the offseason. I remember one time I was on Roman Roubchenko's team and we beat Mo Carter's team in a game that had a lot of arguments. Anyway, Carter would not acknowledge our game winning shot and wouldn't let the next game begin. I finally left after about 15 minutes because I had a night class starting. I probably shouldn't judge someone on one event but I didn't like him much at the time. He's probably not a bad guy, just competitive.
I consider myself pretty knowledgeable but for the life of me cannot remember Mo Carter. I remember Mo Williamson but not Mo Carter. Damnit, what is happening to me? I have watched and followed LSU basketball my whole life.......
Re: I consider myself pretty knowledgeable You must have wanted to forget those year's, which I can't blame you at all for. Carter was recruited by Dale Brown, played sparingly his freshman year (1995-1996), but then led the team in scoring during the 1997-1998 season (14.4) and the 1998-1999 season (17.3). Those teams had little talent, though, and went 9-18 (2-14 in the SEC) and 12-16 (4-12 in the SEC). I liked Carter a lot, and thought he had an excellent work ethic. I remember seeing him at the LSU rec practicing his outside shot constantly with a friend, probably preparing himself for this moment he now has. I hope he does well. I'm just surprised it took him that long.
Re: Re: I consider myself pretty knowledgeable Hey, Sour, if I remember Landers Nolley and Rogers Washington..........you'd think I'd remember a guy that averaged 17 points a game ya know?
