We are still in good position to win the west and go to the SEC Championship game and possible BCS birth, its not the end of the world.

I expect Mauck to fully bounce back next week. We still have a good football team.

No kidding. Mauck had one bad game. Give him a break. It happens. This is why winning a National Title is sooooo hard.

 

I was thinking that Mauck had a horrible game as well. But then I looked at his stats.

thats a 57.5% completion rate at 7 yards per attempt and 12 yards per completion. Thats actually not bad. Though of his 2 INT's I thought one was a bad pass. I think the other one could be argued that it was just as much a good play by the Florida DB as it was a bad pass.

The offense just didn't make plays when they needed to. Or when they did it was called back because of a penalty. I can't say that it is entirely Mauck's fault. Take away the penalties, and the drives continue. Take away the drops and the drives continue. Take away that bad pass (the 1st INT), and the drive continues. Under that scenario, LSU would then have eventually scored on at least some of those drives and you have a different ball game and Mauck looks good. Unfortunately, the what if game doesn't count, and thats not how it happened.

My point is that I don't think all of the blame rests with Mauck, and that his numbers suggests that he wasn't quite as bad as it seems.
