1. That is one of the worst written articles I have ever seen. So many false facts. When LSU fans talk about media bias, this kind of article is what they are talking about.
  2. The Oregon St. game was QB'ed by the worst QB in LSU history (Randall) and was Russell's very first collegiate game, and we still came through even though we lost tons of talent after the 03 NC season. The ASU game was just days from the worst natural disaster to ever hit the state of Louisiana, and many of the players' families lost their homes and everything they had, so you probably should give them some more credit. This season, it was all good and we kicked the sh*t out of a team that USC unsatisfyingly won against, not to mention USC lost to TWO UNRANKED teams while LSU's only losses were to a #3 Auburn and the eventual National champions Florida. Yes USC is loaded and can play any SEC team, but I dont think they can go through an SEC schedule without one or two losses. Not to mention LSU can kick USC's butt any day of the week.
No hard feelings, just laying the truth.:thumb:
  3. Well claiming to have a bad QB for that game doesn't make it okay to dismiss the outcome. It was a HOME game for LSU so at the least you had that advantage. USC has also lost talent since 2003 but we've managed to make 2 more appearances in the NCG and had it not been for the biggest choke of the century against utla, it would have been 3!

USC whupped the Hogs and yet you barely escaped with a win. You put up 31 despite the same D and yet we laid 55 and traveled quite a bit further to do it. Felix Jones more than doubled his output against LSU with 142 yards.

Yes Florida won after they backed into the NCG. I'm still waiting for a thank you note. :yelwink2: Don't tell me that LSU fans weren't gritting their teeth at the thought of being able to kick the luckeye's butts.

I don't know about kicking USC's butts any day of the week. Historically, we've only met on the field twice, each coming away with a road victory. A loss in your backyard to USC could be quite painful.
  4. I don't think he was using it to dismiss the outcome.
I'll be the first to say that we were nowhere near as good as our record that year. Hell, we needed to come from behind to beat TROY! needed our last possesion to beat Zook's Gators, and managed to escape with a 3pt victory against the Manning-less rebels from Ole Piss.
  5. I could have done without this. It's hard enough being a corndog, now I have to be a pompous prick corndog.

  6. Just curious here, vball, but did Arkansas use the Wildcat formation much at all in that ballgame? That is where Felix Jones is in the backfield and McFadden is playing quarterback? Over the course of the season Arkansas really came into their own offensively, in particular with the Wildcat formation. I know SC played Arkansas early, so I wonder how much that factored in.

Arkansas played LSU really tough that game, no question about it, and had Nutt actually played Mustain who knows what would have happened. Either way, LSU was the better team that day and had we played them 10 times would likely have beaten them 9 out of 10.

As for PAC-10 teams versus the SEC, I think the drastic change in offensive styles makes for some very fun to watch games, even if they do end up lopsided. I think you would agree that the strength of SEC teams is the defense, while PAC-10 teams rely heavily on their offensive prowess.

With that said, if you took an SEC team and put it in PAC-10 play for a season, I think the defense would still translate. They would be prepared all year long to face those offensive-minded teams and their styles. However, if you take a PAC-10 team, and slotted it in SEC competition, I am not so sure the offensive schemes will translate (outside of Spurrier's Florida teams) in the SEC.

    My two cents.

  7. dmac was hurt.
  8. Yes he was injured, a case of bar toe. He did manage 54 yards though. Credit due for determination.
  9. One thing's for sure---this only increases the odds of USC and LSU starting the season #1 and #2, as this is effectively LSU lobbying to get that #2 spot to open the season. Win every game and your fate will always be in your own hands...not a bad place to be in today's college football world.

  10. Yeah, it may be Miles lobbying to ensure that LSU doesn't get screwed like Auburn did a few years back.
