1. Oh contrar, it is not the Media Award ... it is the PNC!

and I don't give two flying flips, they can yell through a bull horn outside of ESPN any poll after the BCS National Championship game is played and won by a Team (The National Champions) is invalid and for prepaid column consumtion ie... worthless. There is one trophy :crystal: .. not two :nope: .. and it sits in Baton Rouge <----LSU! .

Anyhow, it's getting more hyped and since their is no real college ball news it's getting all the attention. All I can say is gettir done if it happens. If you speak big and talk loud you better back it up 105%. I'm an Alabama man first and an SEC man second ( reserve the right to not cheer for certain SEC team/s).
  2. I don't know where the truth lies but it's funny how each conference feels the other is the "Media darling", etc. It's amazing how much the Pac 10 fans, namely USC that I hear from, feel the same about the SEC, in regards to the media's portrayal.

One more thing, I don't remember and couldn't find articles on PC actually "Lobbying" the media for votes. I don't recall specifics, can anyone provide a link. It came up in a conversation, yesterday, in the USC forum.

In fact, with regards to PC, this was all I could find:

  3. Come on everyone. I don't see what the big deal is with Miles's comments. Isn't that what all LSU & SEC fans have been saying recently and for the past few years--that the PAC 10 schedule for USC does not stack up anywhere close to what LSU or any of the top tier programs in the SEC face year in and year out. This is a no-brainer to anyone with any football sense except for the Left Coasties in the media and all the slanted fans over there with some wierd view of reality. I have been in California many times and being a southern east-coaster I have come to describe most in the LA area as plastic people--Pete Carroll fits in that category with how he looks but since I have not been around him I can't say that is how he really is. By plastic I mean very shallow personality with the deer in the headlights look with some feeling they think they are better than everyone else--especially someone with a southern accent. Maybe this is the haze that USC is caught up in. To clear it all up why don't they schedule a regular season game with a top SEC game--home or away. I talking about LSU, Auburn, Georgia, Florida or Tennessee. Not to mention the future of Alabama with ole Nickie, Arkansas with the talent like they have in the backfield this year, South Carolina if Spurrier can ever find his old self or even Vanderbilt (did I say that?!!) How many top tier Pac 10 schools can you name? Case closed--please move on. LSU has many "advisors" in the ear of their beloved coaches. I am sure Miles was encouraged to say something like that to possibly bump the preseason rating. Nothing like the anticipation of football season is it.......:geauxtige :usaflagwa

  5. In a perfect world apes would be rule supreme and choose who goes to the NCCG .. no wait that's a movie .. and doesn't have to do with football .. nevermind.

Let the campaigning begin! That's really all it is imo. Good play.

  6. I knew Heston was talking about Gumps. ".. dirty apes."

In the Director's Cut an ape in a houndstooth cap screams at another monkey that won't stop run-en. And then another ape gets up and gets them all in line and as time passes they become known as followers of Terry for the leader that led them to a semblance of intelligence.
  7. Well, which one is it, can you make that statement or not??

    You mean like these??
    ’02 Auburn 24-17
    ’03 @ Auburn 23-0
    ’05 Arkansas 70-17
    ’06 @ Arkansas 50-14

    Amen to that. :thumb:

If you want to pick on the Pac, I wouldn't do it with a team that, like 'em or not, I'd find another team. There are so many parallels between LSU and USC- both are elite programs. If you want to see an example of Pete and USC's accomplishments, here's one: :thumb:

USC's record against AP Top 10 opponents under Pete Carroll (2001-present)
    Season Opponent Result Game
    2006 #3 Michigan W 32-18 Rose Bowl
    2006 #6 Notre Dame W 44-24 regular season
    2005 #2 Texas L 38-41 Rose Bowl
    2005 #9 Notre Dame W 34-31 regular season
    2004 #2 Oklahoma W 55-19 Orange Bowl
    2004 #7 California W 23-17 regular season
    2003 #4 Michigan W 28-14 Rose Bowl
    2003 #6 Wash St. W 43-16 regular season
    2003 #6 Auburn W 23-0 regular season
    2002 #3 Iowa W 38-17 Orange Bowl
    2002 #7 Notre Dame W 44-13 regular season
    2001 #7 Oregon L 22-24 regular season

  8. Only three from the powerful Pac-10. We played 4 in conference on the road last year. I don't see how anyone can argue that the Pac-1 is a stronger conference than the SEC. SC may be as good as any team in the SEC, but that doesn't make the conference any better.

And you can remove the always overrated ND.
  9. Agree.

Especially in regards to this past season, hard to argue with the final rankings: SEC had 3 top 10 teams and the Pac only had one. Hell, the Big 10 had 3. The WAC even had as many as the Pac. with the Big East having twice as many.
  10. USC has played Auburn & Arkansas during the last 5 years and did win them all. However Arkansas is suspect and Auburn had a down year in 2003. 2002 was a close game at USC. This 4 games out of the last 5 years. My point is if they played multiple teams in the SEC with SEC defenses they would not get through as many season undefeated or with one loss as they have in the past not to mention injuries that occur with 300 pound fast DTs & DEs. Nice edit though and other comments--everyone has their opinion--what a great country we have. Free to speak without worrying about getting blown up in a shopping mall..........
