That is Owen Tufts, professionally known as Big Daddy O. Check him out on YouTube. Such a smooth, soulfull voice.
Bro, I can get you in anytime. Bring your tent and your guitar. If you come once, you will never miss again.
Maybe you already are. You have been playing longer than I have. No way I would try to play electric blues solos with professional musicians but I have gotten good enough to play rhythm on some things and even sing some things. My guitar teacher told me a few months ago that I should go play at one of the open mike nights around town. I went to one of them without my guitar just to check it out. It was mainly an acoustic singer-songwriter kind of thing. Most of the players had really good voices but I didn't see anybody who wowed me with their guitar playing. I didn't go back because at the time my acoustic was a crappy el cheapo that had major problems. Also they were all doing original songs and not covers. I never got into it to be a songwriter but I have written a few songs just so I can play at that kind of venue. The people at the place I went seemed to be kind of cliqueish and liberal. I can't wait to see their reaction when I play Pistol Packin' Girl. My Baby cleans our guns at night she loads em in the morning If you break into our house she'll shoot you without warning I met her at a gun show, she was selling 45's She said take a look at this one It just might keep you alive In my lessons I'm still mainly focused on electric. My teacher will show me some licks and I really can get into it when he plays the rhythm but that's only for a few minutes. When I play with a backing track off of YouTube most of the time I'm not nearly as good. I don't have anybody to play with and that's what I need to improve. I want to play with people who may be a little better than me. It's probably like tennis. If you play somebody way better or way worse than you it's no fun for either one. Now that I have a good acoustic I have gotten way better on it and can do things that even a few months ago I couldn't. If I get up and play in front of people I want to be able to entertain, At least to where they don't boo. Sorry to Ramble On (Led Zeppelin) but I started drinking early and didn't run out of booze. In the words of Michael Jordan (or was it Nike) JUST DO IT! Shane and I will be there next year to rock the house.
Dude, it is so good. Emma sat in on keyboards and drums this weekend. She's just an amateur compared to most, but they took her under their wings. So. Good.
