Jones has talked about the need to have a balance of the "one and done" types with four year guys. There is no doubt that unless you are Kentucky you have to take those three and four star guys, sometimes lower, and develop them to be role players their senior, maybe junior year. This element is as important to any team as any one or two superstars. I don't remember the interview but I remember him addressing this very issue. Now, the part that I worry about is how well does Jones develop talent and that is something that we wont really know until some of his lower starred recruits reach upper classman status.
Ray Kasongo choose Tennesse: http://www.knoxnews.com/govolsxtra/...ard-ray-kasongo-commits-to-tennessee_84142837 Then the TEAM will be this for 2015/2016 season: (ok, will come Melvin Frazier and/or Chad Lott, but they isn't TOP 100 recruiting, and so they will play a few minutes per game) *** STARTING FIVE *** 5 Josh Gray G 6-1 182 SR 1993 XX Antonio Blakeney G 6-4 170 FR 1996 55 Tim Quarterman G 6-6 187 JR 1994 XX Ben Simmons F 6-9 225 FR 1996 XX Craig Victor F 6-7 205 SO 1995 *** BENCH *** 15 Jalyn Patterson G 6-0 173 SO 1995 4 Keith Hornsby G 6-4 210 SR 1992 XX Brandon Sampson G 6-4 180 F 1997 21 Aaron Epps F 6-9 203 SO 1996 20 Brian Bridgewater F 6-4 265 JR 1993 22 Darcy Malone C 7-0 245 JR 1995 3 Elbert Robinson III C 7-1 301 SO 1994 *** FILLER *** 10 Henry Shortess G 5-9 156 JR 1995 24 Carlton Speight G 6-4 200 SO 1996 45 Brandon Eddlestone F 6-8 245 JR 1995 COACH Johnny Jones
I agree with you !!! And I don't understand how someone can't indicate LSU among the best 25 teams in the next tournament ... http://collegebasketballtalk.nbcspo...-basketball-way-too-early-preseason-rankings/ This should be an incentive for the team to show the opposite !!!
Probably because LSU is losing some major inside presence with Martin and Mickey leaving. Simmons will be better than either, but he won't be better than both. And he's starting from scratch, whereas the other guys had 2 years experience each.
This guy is more like class of 2018 I think, but is Shareef O'Neal coming to LSU? Shaq's 6 foot 7 inch high school freshman son.
But Jarell Martin and Jordan Mickey have signed with an agent? Because both are falling in mock draft ... is impossible to see at least one of the two with the tigers next year? Which is the date to withdraw from the draft?
