(Merged) Arky TV is saying that Nutt said No to LSU. Any truth to that?

I saw comments posted elsewhere that stated that Houston, who is on vacation right now, does *not* want to go through an interview process again, given what happened last year with the Nebraska fiasco (he's no Bobby Petrino, apparently).

Anyway, he did say that LSU has not directly shown interest in him as a candidate (requesting permission to interview, in Houston's mind, does not qualify as such), but if they called him and said, "Hey, Houston, we're seriously considering you"...then he'd talk to them.

Well placed intentions on his part aside, I say f'k him! It makes it appear that LSU would have to come to him on bended knee for him to even consider the job.

What, is he the reincarnation of Bud Wilkerson or Knute Rockne and I just didn't notice before now? :dis:

This all started when a reporter asked the question if he'd be interested in the job. Nutt said no, he likes Arkansas. Why is everyone going crazy over this? He was never offered an interview.

I wouldn't be nervous. If this is true, it's more of a face-saving out for when he isn't offered the job than it is any reflection on the job itself. You know, jump the gun and decline so that when it isn't offered, you can always say you weren't interested anyway.

By the way, don't you think it's a bit odd that two of Sexton's other clients (Nutt & Tuberville) were rumored to be taking the LSU job?

    HMMMMMMMMMM QUITE CURIOUS INDEED.

    Pay raise, anyone?

Nutt Out of The Running (KNWA Source)

Unconfirmed by link or anything, but I just saw a post elsewhere that at least gave a name and station source.

Here it is: something called "Randy Rainwater" (he is a legit radio host, I checked), who comes on KNWA AM 1600 in the afternoons, just said that Houston Nutt has taken his name out of consideration for the job.

Way to go, Jimmy Sexton, in using LSU as a prop to make your clients look good by allowing them to turn LSU down even when LSU wasn't seriously considering them in the first place. :thumb:

    Jackhole! :cuss:

The prevailing opinion on woopig is that he was using this to obtain the Arky AD when Broyles leaves.
