Mets shut out tonight...Philly is really good I guess!

by the way, WWE match in the Rangers/Angels game.....great stuff indeed. that is the spirit the Mets should have.

yeah philly is fantastic, they are almost to .500. what a juggernaut.

the kind of spirit that allows to you lose 3 in a row to the second place team and still own a 12 game lead?

every game the mets play without any major injury is a victory. these games are completely unimportant. the mets could have you bat cleanup and me leading off and it wouldnt matter. the east is over and has been forever.

even if this is true (and i suspect it is), the playoff rotation isnt that bad. pedro, el duque, and john maine, who has been nothing but fantastic.

glavine didnt create the 14 game lead by himself.

counting on El Duque, who hasn't done anything all season, and John Maine?!

Wow, the NL IS that bad

I am not mocking you by asking this, I am just curious:

    Where is Soler?

Is he even still on the team?

last outing for el duque: no runs, 8 strikeouts, 6 innings. el duque has won 5 of his last 6 decisions, including a complete game shutout. his era with the mets is good, except it is ruined because after pedro was injured the bullpen was burned and nobody could rescue him in his last start and he had to stay in far after he should have been lifted, taking one for the team and giving up 11 runs.

maine has been nothing but outstanding all season, even throwing 26 consecutive scoreless innings at one point.

soler is a good pitcher, he was rocked by boston because he was injured, and being a new shy cuban immigrant who cant speak any english and communicates poorly, nobody knew, he was sent to the dl and is starting his rehab tonight in brooklyn. he had a complete game shutout this year and pitched well before his injury.

the mets have depth. oliver perez is turning his career around and only gave up one hit in his last outing at triple A. mike pelfrey is about as highly touted as any young pitcher, throws fire and he is recovering from a minor injury.

brian bannister, who was very good for the mets and made the rotation out of spring training, is just finishing up some fantastic rehab starts after a bad hamstring problem.

the mets have the lowest team ERA in the NL (second behind detroit overall) and only trail philly in runs scored, because philly plays in the stupid children's park.
