Yeah, really classy when he talked about how a lot of the players on that field last night were his recruits! Take the blinders off. It's all about him all the time. That was just a way of saying "look at the talent I can deliver". He's slimy.
DID NICK LIE---------------He said he was not going to take the Alabama job. This was before he had the Alabama contract finalized. I once had my home for sale. Avery nice couple came to see it and liked it very much. They said they very intrested and they were going out of town and they would come back and write a contract next week. Word got out and people asked me if I had sold the house, and I told them I DID NOT SELL THAT HOUSE. They did come back the next week and we all agreed to terms and wrote a contract. After I accepted the contract I ADMITTED TO EVERVONE THAT I HAD SOLD THAT HOUSE.
I've always loved Don Shula and loved the Dolphins since I was a kid. I respect them very much. If NS has been shopping around for several months then this is a major problem. He could just deny this information instead of deliberately looking at people and lying about it. I heard him say also this morning in this meeting that he was only about the Dolphins while they had games to play. I don't know, I've heard so many lies I don't know what to believe nor do I really care. He spoke well of LSU just so he could announce and all this stuff happened the day of the Sugarbowl and the day after. He won't speak well of LSU when he is recruiting some of the same kids we do. Its funny how people are now making excuses and apologizing for him on this very board. Tigerbait is the one with the spin, there is no doubt Saban said he didn't want that job. If he cared for LSU he wouldn't have went to Bama to coach.
Damn....that is some serious negative commentary on ole saint Nick! Can't say that he doesn't deserve what is being said, and then some. The comparison to a "snake-oil salesman" was classic.
Nick is a good coach. Nick is not very mature person, he does not know himself or what is really important to him. So he tries this and tries that. He doesn't know when he really has it good. The man is 55 years old, how long does it take to figure it out? And when he changes his mind, it puts those who have invested in him in a bad position, and Nick just doesn't care about them. He seems self centered and selfish to me. And wishy washy and indecisive. He had positive capital with me for building up the LSU program, but he burned it by dishonoring himself with the way he left Miami. If he wanted to leave, he should have been man enough to talk to his boss and tell him he wasn't happy, and come to an accomodation or agree to part ways. I have done this in my career and had employees deal with me this way, and there are no hard feelings. $lick Nick doesn't deal straight up with people, and for that, I disrespect him. He had positive capital at my bank even after going to Miami, and I pulled for the Dolphins for the first time ever. He dishonored himself, and now has negative capital at my bank.
that's right. and if 'baby' Shula is such a good coach then let the Dolphins hire him. I'm sure he'll right their ship if he's as good a coach as Dear 'ol Dad seems to think.
