http://tidefans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53068 Season ends Sunday for Dolfins, Saban accepts job on Wed., Assistants hired on Thursday. This deal was signed sealed delivered long before this week to be moving this fast. Just when did Mal Moore interview Nick and decide he was the right guy? Contract negotiations usually take more than a day. When did Nick put together a list of candidates for assistant coaches, and when did he interview them, and push paperwork through human resources at UA? Further shows the depth of the deception at Miami, and what a pitifull way for Saban to treat Wayne Huizenga, who rolled out the red carpet to Nick for the last two years. I'm appalled. This makes all of Nicks lies look much worse than it did just on the surface. Now we begin to see the depth of the deceit. Yuk.
How 'bout a BCS title game in the Orange Bowl in a season or two (however the rotation is for next year)? :thumb:
You mingle with the deceitful, and.... Don't make Huizenga look innocent here. He got what he bargained for. I hope Bama does too.
This what I was actually thinking. You already have hires in place, but you only accepted the job yesterday. It's okay though. Nicky really isn't what the media and everyone is making him out to be. Couldn't win in Miami, with the keys to the castle and more assistant coaches than anyone in the NFL. I see his first year at Bama being a dismal 7-5, losing to LSU, AU, TN, and Miss St. Then ND in the Independance Bowl. (ND finally breaks the streak)
Yes there is. Try LeBatard's column from Wednesday. (I'm trying to find a link, and will post if I can). He called Saban a liar, a loser, a weasel...and that was in the first two paragraphs.
What do you think Huizenga is guilty of? He's paying Saban 4.2 mill a year, stands behind him all the time. Gave him the control he wanted. I don't see anything Wayne did that was to hurt Saban. Just because Huizenga is rich does not make him a bad or a guilty person. His pursuit of Nick was much more "typical" than Bama's pursuit of Nick, evidenced by the speed to the deal, the decision by Nick and the move to hire his first assistant coaches. And it appears Huizenga was surprised by all this. That's a shame.
So would this be a different story if Saban had said he wanted to come back to LSU? Would you have fired Les and taken Saban back?
Here are a few adjectives used in the Miami Herald article to describe Saban...."liar, fraud, greasy, dishonorable, coward, failure, loser, gasbag, hypocrite, weasel, amateur, quitter, unbelievable, duplicitous (fancy word for liar and double dealer)" Most damning article I have ever read! If you have another and can find the link please post it.
I sure wish the LSU/BAMA game was at Death Valley next year. I can't wait for the boo's to rain down on that Benedict Arnold. I guess beating them at home will be a decent consolation prize. I think we ended up with the better all around coach anyway and he doesn't cost nearly as much as ol' two timin' Nick. Les Miles is just a classy guy and too often these traits get overlooked.
Speaking only for me, absolutely not. You can check my post history and try to find one where I in ANY way expressed displeasure in Miles. I know I haven't been here long, but I believe that once you leave, you can't go back.:thumb:
