That's why they will never be Tennessee again. Increasing pay for a coach that had to win his last game to get 6-6 is ludicrous. I would have told him, you want the Michigan job then go take it.

dum dums, its not about deserving. its about keeping him here. if someone else is willing to pay more and you want him, (and have no better option) you fucking pay him. But the clause needs to be rewritten to cover LSUs ass which it currently is not. auto rollover guaranteed money nonsense.

but as much as I hate les' stupid philosophy, you pay him.

its monopoly money anyhow and just a number. doesnt really mean anything except to others egos. college football is huge huge business and they are the CEOs whose salaries are starting to reflect it. now if the actual players were getting what they were worth, thatd be better. for them. but you dont want to have to pay 2 head coaches at once like UF and many other schools. we need to be smarter.

If he had five you would expect more.

Honestly, no. The point is that is right about what he should have. The talent to win has been there. Coaching or lack of it is why they don't have 5.

They have had some talent, that's for sure. Can't argue with that. It's gotta be tough to mold talent 18-21 y/o, though. It's easy when they are more mature and being paid $$$ in the NFL, to then look back and say, "all of that talent, we should have more titles".

On a side note, I was watching some old NFL footage earlier today that included Hank Stram. I think Les is Hank reincarnated. Dude had some fun on the sideline.

Not so easy in the NFL when your star players are making way more than you are and have egos to match their salaries.
