Miles' Advocates Say "He Wins"

I could make the case that talent wise LSU had the most talented team in the country in 06, 07, 10, 11, and 12. Yet somehow we manage to completely stink on offense when it matters, and alot of the time when it doesn't. Yes there have been some games where the D has looked bad, but as a whole they are typically the best D on the field in every game. 06, our offense fails us in the 2 losses, in games we should have won, 07 I'm skipping, and we all know which unit is to blame for 10, 11, and 12.

Miles wins at an exceptional level. LSU has rarely had a "bad" season under his tenure. LSU routinely puts together 10+ win seasons. The thing is that his mistakes are so glaring it makes you forget all the success. He makes some of the most boneheaded mistakes that are very costly. Another issue I have is that LSU has often times regressed during the seaon. As well as a big lack of focus. His clock management has been amateur like. The play calling is another big factor. As LaSalleAve has said, LSU has had arguably some of, if not the most talented team in quite a few seasons.

Overall he has been widely successful and wins at a high level. I for one just have a difficult time fully embracing him.

Funny thing is that the NFL just isn't seeing this endless Offensive talent, some of the more "Gifted" fans see. Seems they doesn't care what high school a player went to in LA, they want to see the actual 40 times, the shuttle & verticle leap.

College talent and NFL talent are two different subjects. You can be an all time great college player but not translate well to the NFL. Example, Tim Tebow, Ron Dayne, etc. and many others who had excellent college careers but didnt make it in the NFL.

    Another great post.

Generally, when you're a truly "Great" player, it does translate - Patrick Peterson, 2 years in, 2 Pro Bowls. Ron Dayne was big & slow everyone knew it.

Look at the OLine the past 10-15 years, the most talented in college football? Wide Receivers? Sure we've had a great defense, no question & great RBs under Miles. But are they the best in college football?

That's the point Tap, they aren't being fucking developed.

If there is nothing there to develop, they aren't going to be developed. There are a few players from "popular" high schools, that just didn't have it. Yes, we take some guys to keep the ties strong.

Actually, Les gets three extra chances a year. Mac got 11 regular season games plus a bowl game. Les gets 12 regular season games, plus the SECCG if he earns it, plus a bowl game.
