Look, I am not "some people". I support Miles and believe he is an excellent coach for LSU. I believe he will have great success here. Don't jump to your quick easy-out logic to discard my thoughts on his trip to Dallas. In my opinion, and I certainly have my *own* opinion, this was a terrible idea and move on his part.
Confused. Maybe we watched a different game. I didn't see a whole lot of preparation or execution by the players. Just my opinion.
Looks like you and I are the above referenced "some People". I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees it this way. What happened to free speech?
My response wasn't directed at you. You articulated an opposite point of view and that's certainly your prerogative.
I dont think anyone here can question i have been a supporter of Les Miles and stood up for him on many occasions. I think Coach Miles has done a good job and we have the chance to finish 11-2 if our players decide they would like to show up for the Peach bowl. But in this instance i can not support his decision. This sent the wrong message to his team and it was a mistake. Let Bertman go or let the SEC handle it if your team loses. But he should have had enough confidence in the team to win this game and make the point moot. People make mistakes sometimes and it happens in the world i live in. I make mistakes every day. The way you are judged is how you deal with them. This team did not compete in the game. They will have to explain why but it be with them for the rest of their lives. It is one thing to lose when you play your heart out. It is another when you lay down and dont give your best. I dont blame the Coach's for this loss. It is squarely on the players and their lack of execution. I am proud of this teeam and i am greatfull for a great season. But as all i am dissapointed in the way the SECCG went and i feel in my bones that this team has more to show than what they did Sat. Some teams play above their heads and some teams play below their skills. Saturday we are the latter. I hope for the sake of these seniors that they at least go out fighting at the Peach Bowl whether we win or not. The way our seniors played was not how they want to be remembered. 11-2 coming off a win or 10-3 with 2 straight losses. It is up to you players. Play like you did Sat. and you will regret it the rest of your lives.
Exactly. Did Mark Richt hit up Cotton or Outback Bowl reps two days before Saturday's game? Somehow I doubt it. From asking where his wife is during a game to calling timeouts he doesn't have to running JV on short yardage plays versus Tenn when 92,000 other observers knew Joe Addai was clearly the better option in such circumstances to butchering the english language to wearing a ridiculous headphone, ol' Les sometimes just doesn't have the knack for knowing what to say or do and when to say and do it sometimes...but that's just my opinion.
If you honestly think he cared less about a win because he campaigned for all alternatives then you are as dumb as I think you are.
Why Miles went, I have no clue. Seems like it was a useless trip to me. Skip going doesn't surprise me though. He is in charge of the money. The better bowl for the seniors crap is bull sh*t. No way in hell a single one of those seniors would rather play in 25 degree weather at 10 am than play their final game at night in a dome on turf. All about the $$$$$$$$
