I've read that the Cotton Bowl payout is 3M and the Peach is 2.2

But all of the bowl payouts get divided among the teams of the SEC, so the money is a wash. The only time we get the short end of the stick is when the SEC can't fill all of it's allotted bowls--which happened this year, right?

Looking back, prolly not the best decision, BUT had LSU won the SECCG then most here would have praised him for his pro-active stance in trying to get a New Year's Day game for his team. I too think he should have been with the team, but hindsight is 20-20.

The article stated that it was "family night," so he wouldn't have been with the team anyway, and it sounded as if it was a 4-5 hour round trip--tops.

I'm not sure if I agree with the move (I mean, it didn't work), but I don't believe it took him away from the team.

no matter how long he was away it sends the wrong message to the team.

I agree, just don't like the message it sends the team.

Do we know for a fact that the team was aware of the trip prior to kickoff Saturday night? If they knew, then it could have influenced their psyche. If they weren't aware, I don't see where it makes much of a difference in the players minds at this point.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody is around, does it make a noise?

Does it really matter if the players knew or not?

It was a bad move on his part.
