If the players were aware and it impacted their performance, I agree. If they weren't aware I don't see where it's that big a deal.

If Miles makes a significant contribution to the offensive game plan and Jimbo was still working on the package I might tend to agree. However, the reports I've read suggest that time frame was some rare time off for the coaching staff.
The news hit the internet late Friday night. The Dallas Morning News had it on the front page of Sports as one of the leads. And this board started discussing it noon on Saturday. So I would guess they all knew.
The team was sequestered in their hotel in Atlanta Friday night and during the day Saturday. It is possible the news reached them but I think unlikely.
If the players were surfing the Internet or chatting with family and friends PRIOR to the game, I think that's a bigger distraction than Les's trip to Dallas. Someone with inside knowledge can confirm or refute, but I suspect the staff tries their utmost to minimize outside distractions and keep the team focused on the task at hand.
