you got to give him credit for not throwing the team under the bus, the full statement was more than what the OP posted ..he went into some things need to change , Ive blasted the coaches for stupid plays and still feel that we need better development coaching....then again maybe he is a freakin genius that he was able to have the season that we has with the inexperience of the players
Tonight was text book Schembechler/Miles ball 101. Punishing ground game and stifling defense. It's hardly ever a thing of beauty, but is successful a majority of the time. Unfortunately for us, there are 2-3 games on our schedule every year with teams that match up well with this style, so some resemblance of a passing game is needed to be successful, but we've seen the results year after year.
That record is grossly inflated by his '05-'07 seasons, (34-6), when he actually coached with some sort of passion. Since '08 Miles is 77-22, and grossly benefitted from smothering defense while getting by on mediocre offense. You have to get past "The Record".
we will continue to beat up less physical teams and all our cream puff ooc teams, so that's about 6 wins right there,.so then it comes down to those other 5 or 6 games....of which we are losing at least half of them or more since 2011
I will say this, amongst all the bullshit that's happened over the last few weeks, we would still have a shot at a 10 win season had the McNeese game not been canceled. Crazy..
Possibly, but there's a very good chance we get skull fucked in the bowl game too... Les doesn't win many of those anymore.
34-6 and 1-2 in bowls... including the Bama NC ass raping. No trophy for 2nd best, and since then he hasn't finished better than 3rd in the West.
