He also said that he was looking at quality coaches with NFL experience, and that these guys were being sought after by NFL teams and went to other NFL teams. I think he is referring to George Edwards who went to Miami. If his 3rd choice is a quality NFL coach then I think that I will be okay with that decision. Sounds to me like he is really looking for an aggressive DC to compliment our players and keep LSU's rep for having one of the toughest D's in the country.

Maybe we were 'the ones who got there first'.

Will we be announcing the hiring of Dave Campo soon? :hihi:

    Just kiddin guys.

I don't think Campo will be our next DC. It could be Slocomb, I guess it is a toss-up trying to figure out who will be ours and who will be yours.

I have no doubt that Miles and Tuberville were in touch with a lot of the same candidates, so it will be interesting to see who ends up with who.

Either way I am not too worried, Tuberville got his job bc of being a great defensive mind. Which leads me to this question:

How did Les Miles get his first head coaching job? Is he an offensive or defensive mind? This could be a more critical hire for ya'll than us. We experienced our critical hire last year when we got an OC in Borges, thank goodness that one turned out well.

Good luck finding your DC, it could be a huge hire (if Miles is an offensive guy).

He was an OLs man and Michigan and coached on OLine staff at Michigan and Dallas... so he is offensive so to speak.
