Nothin' new there. Hearst did it in 1898 with the Spainish-American War...

Well, in my experience I have witnessed beligerent hip street dudes trying to impress their bitches and their posse. I have also encountered beligerent bouncers who take too much enthusiasm in their jobs. Many of them feel like they have a license to whip someone's ass legally. Mix them together and you get a brawl that the bouncers usually win, both physically and legally.

Ever see the movie Roadhouse? One of the things that make a good bouncer is influencing people out the door without undue violence. The Varsity may have seen the need to upgrade their security staff.

actually i posted that the bouncers were fired/quit last night. this has been open knowledge for a while.

at first when i talked to the manager of the varsity i believed what they were saying. then when i found fisher's comments, and found out how many people left working at the varsity directly after i realized that rp was not in the wrong.

now that the police report is out it's becoming pretty clear that ryan's lawyer thinks they have a pretty good case at something. be it libel or to save rp's ass, they have something.

yeah tigerfan, i can see your disagreement but for two things.

if you still have to close out your tab the bouncers won't know that and will continue to try and force you out.

some people are from new orleans and don't realize the bars close at 2.

these are generic rebuttals, but you missed the context of it. if you don't realize it's 2 and a bouncer comes screaming at you or grabbing you, you're going to be pissed. not every bar has someone yell out last call. or if you're at a show like the players were on thursday, you won't hear them say that anyhow.

Based on the police report it sound like RP was more at fault than DO. It will be interesting to see what Mr. Fisher's subpoena of the tape reveals. If it shows RP as beligerent as the police report says (which is basically 'bouncer testimony') he could be gone.

Unless you know why they allegedly quit, how do you equate their action with RP's being in the right? Might they have quit because they don't want to deal with that kind of work environment? Who wants to list "bouncing LSU football players" on their resume?

I'm not in any way suggesting that RP is guilty, just suggesting that none of the actions from that night are easily explained from afar.
