I think there are two divergent schools of thought on the matter.

    A. Those who look at what actually happened (that we know of, at least officially).

    B. And then there are those who look at the entire set of circumstances that culminated in whatever transpired.

Group A considers everything that Ryan has gone through and determines that while not always the brightest of actions, he hasn't done anything that would warrant dismissal. Perhaps stiff reprimand, but not dismissal. He wasn't charged by the feds in regards to the counterfeiting deal, he was dumb and used a fake ID which isn't uncommon with college kids, and he got in a bar fight.

Nothing to cheer for, but nothing to crucify over either.

Group B considers everything that Ryan has gone through and determines that at this juncture regardless of the actual incidents, this is a pattern of behavior that will either continue or simply worsen to the point it explodes. Yes, even moreso than this latest incident. Ryan had two strikes, and he was out at a bar, got into a physical confrontation, and that's it. Three strikes. You're out. The decision-making skills needed not even just on the football field but on the court of life simply do not appear to be attuned properly for Ryan. Not at this point. Perhaps not ever. He has become a liability to LSU, and that is unfair to his teammates, his fellow students, and all those who have previously attended and all those who support the school.

If you do not want to get into trouble and are serious about your choices being the right ones you are either a) not at the bar that night or b) do what Glenn Dorsey did and try to discourage the physical encounter and simply leave. Neither of those things happened with Ryan. Group B says it is time to move on. Lesson learned.

    That's it. Cut and dry.

Two schools of thought. Two differing outlooks on one situation.

The truly common denominator between the two of them?

LSU is hurt by this no matter what happened.

And that is the most unfortunate thing.

it certainly looks like Ryan is the less guilty of the two.
    Odom is done, however.
The damage to property (again) shows he wants off the team.

Ryan has no more get out of jail free cards.

    He better watch it.

Look for Perriloux to be reinstated the day before the game and cleared to play.

Odom will be kicked off the team.

Ok, so what? All this hot air over this stupid incident? My hemroids are flaring up... the media needs to get some balloons instead of blowing hot air up my rear about all this crap for a week. I want to hear what is being done about the cheap shot on dorsey, I want to know why MF can't hit the broad side of a barn.

I want to know what we are doing for our run at a national championship this year. This DRAMA bs is just that....

Odom should be off the team... his Daddy shoulda beat him as a kid... need a belt? Or make him get his own switch?

RP, if some bouncer shoved your pregnant G/f and then got in your face cause he knew who you were, then handle ya biz man... I woulda got in a fight too, but eh maybe thats the coonass in me....

Let's get ready to play this week, and win a national championship.. enough of the drama BS..

If I wanted to deal with Drama I woulda stayed married...

No offense but why would you come to a thread about this pissed off and telling people to move on when you are clearly interested in it as well. If you weren't then you wouldn't have come into the thread. Also regardless of your opinion this is obviously something people are interested in or none of us would be here. It does affect the team and makes a difference in games. The team is going to be distracted by this now regardless if charges are filed and there is fault in that. If you don't like the topic of a thread then why come into it?

I am not taking up for RP as for as the incident goes, but on the subject of him not being a leader. He may not necessarily lead with great character but he sure as heck leads with his play. I think everyone on here can see his talent, well guess what, so can the players. When he is on the field he gives 100% , we see it and so do the players. If he needs to be booted then go ahead, but to say the team won't follow him is not very bright.

While I agree with you, I almost feel our expectations are unrealistic and unfair. Know what I mean?

So lets see here if I can grasp what RP has done bad:

    1) He had some cash that was counterfeit and was questioned about it by federal authorities. As it turns out, the cash originated from one of RP's relatives and RP had no knowlege it was counterfeit. Conclusion - RP's fault, duh!

    2) He tried to get into a casino/bar with a fake ID. Not that this is acceptable behavior, but it is certainly not uncommon for a college student. Conclusion - RP's fault <no sarcasm this time>. He goes on to make A's in summer courses and an A in his intersession course. He also voluntarily does community service.

    3) Several players (did anyone read the WAFB report a couple days ago saying that Glenn Dorsey was there?) are performing at the Varsity Thursday night. A lot of their teammates show up for the event. The incident occurs and we have all read the reports by now. The key bit of information: Several of the bouncers involved are suddenly looking for work elsewhere. Conclusion - Not the bouncers' fault at all, RP is completely at fault here. Kick him to the curb. Make crude jokes about him. Say goodbye...........

    That about cover it?
