RS has yet to throw a pass for LSU. Where did Bama get the video of his passing? His youtube high school highlights?
You know if he does come out a throw a pass right away it will be in their head all game long. Anything to move their focus from what is really going on.:milesmic:
Don't forget, the Wildcat style offense has absolutely failed against Saban. We tried it one play against them last year with Richard Murphy and it got stuffed either in overtime or right before, also Ole Miss has tried it 2 years in a row and has failed. We are going to have to get real creative, the way to beat Bama is in the passing game, but we have to be able to at least make them respect the run. Going to be tough, but i think LSU can do it.
I would tend to agree with you, but that's the beauty of it. I have to think they are going to let him throw at some point (I really think he was supposed to throw on one of the downs in the UGA, but he called a TO.) If we play to win, we should go for it. He may not be a great passer, but we don't know--and in a game where a TD for either side could be hard to come by, the element of surprise may be just what the doctor ordered. Hopefully, Miles and company realize we've avoided '08, part two this year and let the guys play ball.
You don't have to be real creative, you just have to play fundamentally sound football. Every Tiger fan out there should know that the Achilles Heel of a Saban defense is passes to the RB coming out of the back field. It worked for every team that tried it when he was in BR. I hope Miles and Chavis have done their homework. The key to this game is the LSU OL and DL. The OL will have to give JJ time to throw even if the running game isn't working and the LSU DL has to get some pressure on the QB while being able to stop the run. This game will be won or lost in the trenches IMO.
