I don't think Peters is a sleeper. He is a DE, Luther is a DT. But Peters is the 13 ranked DE in the country. Of all the DT's we're recruiting, LD was the LOWEST ranked. We have Barksdale, Nevis, and Blackwell committed to LSU, and all of them are ranked higher than LD. I just don't see a problem here. Not too mention the fact that we aren't exactly hurting on the DL anyway. If he goes to Bama, it helps them way more than it hurts us.
Sleeper might not be the best word. You are right though, in that getting Peters is more of a need position than Davis is. Considering the great class of DT studs we bringing in
I don't think Tuscaloosa is that much further than Baton Rouge from Monroe (at least not substantially so). Altho it won't be in his home state, I'll give you that.
Bingo. I think everyone will feel good about losing this kid the more we think about what he has said and done in the past. We don't and will not have a "win at all costs" mentality during the Miles administration. And I for one find it quite refreshing in this day and age of cut throat recruiting.
The thing I find interesting about this, and it's second hand word, is LD's mom mentioned that neither she or LD were told they couldn't visit or be recruited by other schools. I agree with the notion, "You shop, we shop." But, if that is going to be the case, and IF what she is insinuating is indeed true, one could suspect the ball was dropped. Just musing... I suspect after the visit they were told you shouldn't have gone...which, in turn lead to some ill-will on LD's family...which in turn led us to where we are today.
LOL. I do try to make the difference known in what I know to be accurate, and what I've "heard." Sad to say, that's not to common on the 'net.
Scout is quoting Davis's mom as saying they were never told they couldnt visit once they were committed.
