i think the florida game will be bigger than the VT game. if your coming down here for the sole purpose of experiencing tailgating at its best, i'd suggest getting on campus much earlier! (8-9). we get out there a little before 7, and do breakfast first. :thumb: The parade grounds does sound like a great idea, but only as a "home base". Spend the whole day eating everyone else's food and drinking everyone else's beer. I promise that as long as you are friendly, you will get all you can eat and drink! Read that below, "an experience unlike any we've ever had"
As an officer of the court, it is my responsibility to inform you that you are not allowed to carry coolers full of beer everywhere on the  campus on a tailgating Saturday. You are required to carry coolers full of beer everywhere on the  campus on a tailgating Saturday. :thumb:
Thanks for the great responses - appreciate the help and I can't wait to get down there and experience some real tailgating. Like I said, we don't have much up here in Minnie - at least not on the same scale as what I am hearing about. Sounds like we should shoot for being there by mid-morning, should set up in the Parade Grounds, should bring some coolers, and maybe some souvenirs from Minnie to barter for some food! Really can't wait. Just hope we can make it down there early after a night in New Orleans:hihi: Any links to some good driving directions to the Parade Grounds? If you see a bunch of guys wearing Minnesota gear (probably hockey) it will be us. :geauxtige
Keep in mind that the FL game will likely be picked up by CBS and will be played at 2:30. You better get there around 6-7am And yes I'm serious.
They better just plan on going straight from going out in New Orleans to Death Valley, they can sleep in the vans for a little while, then start all over again. :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige
Actually, CBS is broadcasting an SEC doubleheader on that day @ 3:30 ET and 8:00 ET. I'd be very shocked if LSU-UF wasn't the primetime game.
It depends on what time the game is. If the game is at 2:30, things get started pretty early & by 10 campus is packed. If the game isn't until noon things will be a little more low key until a little after noon. Of course, a little more low key to me may be the best tailgating you've ever seen. Parade Grounds would be a great home base - especially if College Game Day is here since that is where they set up. It's easy to get to the stadium from there & there's plenty of room & people. Make your way out to Nicholson for some beer pong & flip cup with drunken college students. As for the night before in New Orleans, you may want to cut it a little short (around 2am) so that you are ready to go the next morning because you don't want to feel like crap all day.
Ok the Florida game is already set in stone and was before the season even started LSU vs FU will be PRIMETIME BABY!!!!! OH FOR IT TO BE SATURDAY NIGHT, THERE IS NO PKACE BETTER THEN TIGER STADIUM!! AND AS AN ADDED TREAT!! This will be Mike VI first game after the 1430 start time would be to hot for the tiger to stand in the cage per the LSU vets.
