You are in for it now, Red. He gave me a red dot and called me a hypocrite. Now, if I remember right, you are not married. Please be sure you never do. Your great, great, great, grandchildren will suffer for your transgressions. :bncry: :bncry: :bncry: :bncry: :bncry:
This is to funny......band members acting like they are perfect and coming to the defense of this and calling it embarrassing......I lived in Tigerland for 2 years and right around LSU's campus for 4, and I can tell you that when I attended parties that if drugs (you name it and it was there) were there nine out of ten times it was a band member passing it around. Go figure:dis:
You know what? Keep up the imaturity and you'll lose "Hey Baby" too...did you noticed it was played only once during the Tulane game because the "students" decided they would rebel? It's one thing to claim "tradition" but another to do something out of spite. Much has been said in this thread about the use of profanity and such. The general concenses is the older people frown and the younger don't see anything wrong. I'll say it again though...R-E-S-P-E-C-T!!! I don't have a problem with profanity from an individual frustrated at a moment in the game. I do have a problem if that is the ONLY way that person conveys himself. He will be asked nicely to tone it down. If it continues I'll ask him to leave. It also becomes a problem if others around the individual in question begin to complain. So what you have now are complaints to the University about profanity during Tiger Rag so the powers that be decide we will do away with the source of the problem. Then, like a child throwing a temper tantrum, the student body decides to foul another song and now will probably send it the way of "Tiger Rag". How about growing up and acting 18-22 instead of 12-16. I know you are not far removed from that time in your lives but you have to have gained some kind of maturity in those few years.
Red is right about earning respect. He is also wrong about demanding it. People demand it all the time, mostly the young. The sad thing is some never learn, when people give way to demanding and obnoxious people it is not out of respect. In this case LSU decided not to give way.
