In my days as a student, "Geaux to hell Ole Miss" was the "controversial" cheer. You can judge for yourself whether cheers have gotten worse on the profanity meter.
When did it become ok to infringe on the rights of others in the name of freedom. Kids have no respect for others these days and it is the fault of their parents. My brother took his 7 and 9 year old kids to a Dallas Cowboy game and had to listen to teenagers use the woth word Fck and every other cussword over and over and over. Where is the respect for others. Kids today dont have it. My right to cuss and act stupid overrules the laws and decency of society now. They say the constitution gaurantee's me free speach. Well our Constitution needs to changed to say that parents have the responsibility to teach their children to act with respect in Society and not infringe on the other person's rights when in a crowd and their is no other option but to be confined in a space you paid to bein. It is just a sign of the selfishness that our kids are taught today. Think about yourself and to hec with others. The parents who are honestly trying to bring their kids up with respect for others and have manners are under attack by the parents who think their kids can do or say anything they want. Freedom has responsibilities that go with it. Do you think that our servicepeople in Iraq want to fight for some drunk college students right to hollar ass ole at a football game in front of his small kids. Freedom is the right to voice your opinion in an honest decent way without the fear of retribution.
Respect goes both ways....why dont you respect the fact that we wish to chant our chants? Sure it might not be a tradition for years and years but ever since I've been sitting in the student section we have been doing it. So its a tradition to me. Somebody a few posts ago said they heard it I think they're more concerned with the words itself than the ruining of the song. I know. But for now I sit in the student section. So, I will be doing the things the student section does. too bad the BAND MEMBERS din't have much of a say We don't have a FU#$ chant. You want to alter the free speach clause in the Bill of Rights? Are you crazy? Thats what this country was founded upon. Sure you can't legally yell FIRE in the auditorium of 500 because it causes mass chaos. Yelling A##h#$# isn't hurting anyone. Your kids will not grow up to be failures at life because they overheard vulgarity at an LSU football game. In some years your kids too might be attending LSU Football games as students....trust me...they'll be using vulgarity..... I'd be suprised to find a soldier thats never cursed in his life. Besides that this point has nothing to do with the Tiger Rag chant. The troops aren't going to stop fighting because we chant a@@h#$%. The troops are "Defending Freedom." Who cares what the soldiers WANT to fight for.....freedom isn't that. Your not going to like my choices. I'm not going to like yours. But you have the freedom to make your own choices, just as I do mine. Since when did decent become part of the freedom equation?
Lets see here....... The Ole Miss chant I have seen LSU faithly right in the face of Ole Miss fans screaming this at the top of their lungs. Oh yeah thats alot better then chanting @sshole in a stadium.
yes you are hurting someone, You're damaging the schools rep and yours. No one on wall street chants "aZZhole" or at least no one succesful does. the business world doesn't work like that. You'll learn, or you'll suffer. You have alot to learn young man.
