So far, the MLB draft has called the names of 2 of our recruits, pitcher Beau Jones and catcher Brandon Snyder.

Snyder was the 13th selection by Baltimore and Jones was the 41st selection by Atlanta.

Snyder, IMO, would have been a significant player for us and been a starter right away. Ditto for Jones.

At this point, especially with Snyder at #13, both of these young players are probably going to bypass college. :dis:

Unless Jones thinks he can greatly improve on being the 41st over-all pick, I think he'll be gone as well.

    DAMN, MLB draft!!!!!!

Crap! I missed him! ....now I feel even worse! Let's just hope that other schools are getting raped like we are by the draft.

Only a matter of time before people start crying about age limits in baseball...oh wait, nevermind, most of these recruits are white.

I think all professional drafts should have a "+3 year limit" like the NFL. Athletes must be out of high school for 3 years. Period. They don't HAVE to be in college for 3 years--but they can't go to the pros before that time either.

Iorg went ahead of teammate Hochevar.

hochevar was initially projected a top 10 pick and rightfully so. Luckily for him, the rockies didnt select him though he fell to 40th which is not good. thats way too far to fall for that kind of talent. he went to the dodgers which is a great place to pitch if he ends up there.

Eli Iorg went to the Astros. (38)

iorg is going to be badass at the top level. astros land tulanes bogusevic. (24). 2 great picks by the stros.

Sean West of Captain Shreve went to the marlins (44)

Beau Jones of Destrehan went 41st to the braves.
