Damn, I'm going to say this one more time and then leave it alone because a lot don't understand what I know as "fact." It was SABAN that started the contact...it's happened 3X, but it's in one of the "feelings" stages. Right now, the only delusion is happening with some of the LSU fan base... What do you want? The name of the guy who has been having the conversations? Would that make you feel better? Good Lord guys...because he coached at LSU and moved on to Miami doesn't mean he's not interested in returning to college ball...fact is, some of the feelers he put out were to your AD...not received warmly, understandably so...
I'm afraid you need to buy a few clues yourself. Your sources were wrong this time around. It happens. No pride lost in admitting to it.
I'll totally dismiss the conversation I had with him...but, thanks for the input. Honestly, how do you feel about Saban putting feelers out about returning to LSU? This guy is a AU grad, been associated with college football coaches for years, and does work behind the scenes more than you realize.
Wouldnt shock me that Saban would want to consider a return to LSU. he is a God here. More then half the fan base still wishes he was here (Although Miles is slowly chipping away at that). His wife liked living in Baton Rouge and everything around that stadium, Nick had a hand in (New facilities etc etc) I know there is hope he is coming to Bama, if you guys want to believe that. Fine its Christmas. BUT Saban has much love for LSU believe it or not, even mentions LSU at times in his press conferences and to the media. So that is not suprising. And if Miles ever leaves, and Saban is in the NFL I am sure he would be #1 on the list. BUT Just like Santa its not happening. Plus IF Nick is putting out feelers already after two years. He bolted LSU on Christmas and every year it was "IS Nick Leaving" He bolted MSU, he is rumored to Bolt Miami. If true I am wondering the mans ability to commit. I mean had the world in his hand at at LSU, and he left for greener pastures. So lets assume Nick takes the Bama job. History proves he wont be there long. So does Bama want the next long term coach or a hire gun for 3 years ? That is the question.
the meltdown is alive and well. this entire saban thing cracks me up. its also god's to turn down but hes not taking it. oh wait, same person. day-lou-juh-null he really believes it, give it up. if you think we dont want to believe saban is interested in the alabama job because we are scared or jealous or hurt, you're sadly mistaken. We know saban is about the money and hes guaranteed 20 mill more from this day forward with total control of an elite NFL job. if you really cant see how you will not offer that much and/or total control and pay out his contract to him for it to be even remotely feasible you're clueless like all other bama fans. terry, "its time to move on, got it".
