I didn't say we should go to the wishbone, I just thought with Broussard/Vincent/Carey and Randall in the backfield it would be a good fit for the skills of those players. I admit I might be the only one here that likes it but I love watching the option, it puts pressure on the defense to make the right read and if not it's off to the races for JV or MR. I think it's exciting to watch.......as far as the Russell comment goes, it might not fit him but Matt Flynn is a good runner. That means 2 out of 3 qbs on the roster should be able to do it effectively. I mean, what the hell, Jimbo Fisher knows what he's doing so I don't have any influence on the situation. I just meant as a fan I like to watch it and hope they put it in there some more. :thumb:

Not to even mention he's behind Flynn in learning the LSU offensive system.

Who gets more playing time ... in the event Randall goes down ... the only way anyone starts in 2004 other than Randall

Flynn, the freshman who knows the system better, has better completion percentages, makes fewer mistakes, is faster and has better running skills.

Russell, the freshman with the great arm and all the promise and upside in the world.

LOL, Jimbo may fool a few this fall ... but look for the frosh ... both of 'em ... to earn loads of equal playing time ... in mop up ...

conservative and smart coaching ... Saban's style ... who's to knock him ... man only won a NC for LSU

the option is a very dangerous/turnover ridden offense if you do not practice it about 80% of the time. It's the hardest offense to practice, especially for a QB. but even the backs need to practice it a lot, getting used to the pitch, running without looking downfield till the ball is tucked away, slowing down to stay in cadence with the QB, etc. So I don't really expect to see us running it hardly at all.

With Randall, I expect to see more of the option style like he used in the Arkansas game. More out of the shotgun, combined with a pass option. Could have defensive coordinators sh*tting themselves.

This just in, LSU has announced there will indeed be more option football this season. Here are the options an opponent will have:

    1) Forfeit the game before it is played, therefore salvaging some dignity
    2) Losing your ass and looking stupid in the process if you do indeed play the game

Nice to see LSU is being courteous regarding this issue.

LOL...I know it's off-topic, but you know what I think of other than that Randall run when thinking of that game?

Bradie James flat running The Almighty Roy Williams down, from behind, in the open field.

I thought ya boy Roy had some jets. Guess he was running a little low on fuel on that play, to be run down from behind by a linebacker like that...
