1. Counsell has the distinction of having been on base for the last two times that the world series ended with a walk-off hit

love talking baseball,.. cueto is ahead of schedule recovering from his tjohn surgery, expect him to pitch in september,.. yastremsky has energized the giants,.. our starting pitchers suck and blow, but we're sort of a comeback team this year,.. led the majors with a 15-6 record in one run wins, tho we lost today 3-2 in the 10th,.. mark melancin is a gold plated turd
  2. Thus giving a world series ring to Josh Booty even though he had been send back down to the minors.
  3. Yeah and he was all sec qb somehow. Ugh. And they have another booty named General set to graduate soon who plays qb. Abrams son i think. They are California kids now hopefully they all stay there.

  4. Josh let a friend wear the ring when they went to a restaurant. The friend took it off to wash his hands and left it in the bathroom where it was never seen again.
  5. General Booty? That one could go either way. He better be thankful he's a 5 star athlete.
  6. this one ain’t happening.

nobody has come within an at bat of breaking this one.
throwing two in a row only ties the record.

to break it, you gotta throw 3 in a row.

only 5 guys in entire history of baseball have thrown 3 in a career. Nobody has ever even done 3 in a season before.

  8. Other than Vandermeer has anybody ever thrown 2 in a season? Nolan Ryan had 7 but I think they were all in separate seasons.

  9. According to Google:

    Ryan threw 2 in ‘73
    Scherzer threw 2 in ‘15
Halladay threw 2 in ‘10 (one was a post season game)
Virgil Trucks threw 2 in ‘52
Allie Reynolds threw 2 in ‘51
    Vander Meer in ‘38

Shortest span with 3 was Ryan:
    May ‘73 ; July ‘73 ; Sept ‘74

  10. i think most of not all of the career pitching records are safe just due to the way the game has changed.

pitchers today just simply won’t get near enough starts/games/innings to compile enough stats to catch the all time leaders.

    example:
Cute Young threw 40+ complete games in 9 different seasons.
it’s been over 30 years since any pitcher has even started 40 games in a season, let alone went the distance in that many.
