I was reminded of that plenty watching the LSU vs WVU replay last night - For those that need a reminder, please go back and watch it! But then again, watch the A&M game and tell me you dont feel bi-polar!
What struck me about that game was that with a 6 point lead and 5 minutes to play, about 35,000 fans had headed for their cars. Clearly they were dissatisfied with our offensive showing and with our QB play, but we're up by less than a TD with that much time left and you leave? Another thing was that (and the announcers were stressing this) we needed to pound Ridley at the end and kill clock but Crowton calls some kind of roll out pass play that served only to give WV extra time. I'm glad he's gone.
Just a reminder, he has practiced and played against an SEC defense in the past: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xz235yyct1g&NR=1]Zach Mettenberger gets Wasted - YouTube[/ame] Keep in mind that he was playing this g day game between the time he got arrested and when it hit the news. It tells me he handles duress pretty well. He also played a full season last year and took butler to the nc game. He isn't inexperienced. mett has put the same pressure on JL this year that he put on JJ, so I expect Jarrett will be a lot better this year as well. I thought he looked good in the spring game. I'd rather mett had another year before the weight falls on him, but I know him personally and he'll shoulder it if it comes to that. He's really grown a lot in the past year. I'll keep saying it: LSU is still going to be VERY competitive this year. All this hoopla will eventually be seen to have helped rather than hurt. Y'all come on back in off the ledge.
I Know right! - We were destroying the interior of the WVU defense with Ridley right up the gut, even when WVU knew it was coming, and GC continued to call those sh!tty option plays and roll out boot legs. On one of the last series, GC called an option, we lost a yard, the crowd booed like hell, we ran a draw up the gut, picked up 13 yards and first down, then we passed, crowd booed, then we ran another option on the following play! - What the hell was he thinking in there? Just to confirm, that was the game, JJ threw 2 interception, one was TT's fault, one he stared his receiver down like a run way model, and he had like 2 more dropped that were right in the defenders hands. He didn’t play well at all that game. That was also the game, he ran out of bounds like 3 yards shy on the line of scrimmage when he could have just thrown it away. After the 17-0 lead the game got disgusting to watch
