I don't think most people believe JJ is no better than a dumb lawn mower repairman, but I could be wrong.
I know I am homer Cliff that drinks purple cool-aide so I want this point to be clear from my camp. 20 Tigers out at 2am drinking at a bar is bad all bad on its on. The other side of the story is that you can see that a bar walking distance home with Friday off could happen. The Senior in this group needs to be the one that is saying - come on guys this is going to get crazy lets get out of here. If we let a fight break out this will get back to coach and ESPN ! That is the JJ story that hurts me is that he didn't have the judgment to protect his team and his coach. :dis::dis::dis::dis::dis::dis::dis::dis::dis::dis::dis::dis::dis::dis::dis::dis:
One of the many things I learned in the Navy was to always consider: "What am I gonna say if I go before the green table for this?" (Green table, with Admirals on other side, was always bad) Put another way "Would Coach Miles be pleased with what I am doing?" Very simple question, very simple answer. It kind of comes down to knowing your place in the big picture.
No I'm saying all I know as an absolute fact of this whole thing is the curfew violation part of the story. It’s not good, but it’s not like they invented a new crime. It’s an old story, and might be a rite of passage type thing, I don’t know. I have only heard parts of one side of the street brawl story. No one knows the facts. If the story ends up that JJ really did kick a guy in the head while his team mates held him down - he's done. But I really don't think that happened. All I'm saying is that I'm not going Nancy Grace on anyone without knowing the whole story. The cops haven't even interviewed the players involved yet and some on this board are ready to throw JJ under the bus. It makes me wonder why.
No doubt, the whole story isn't out there yet, but there is a ton of smoke for there to be absolutely no fire. I hope it turns out to be very over blown and that JJ is back in good grace quickly. However I'm not so naive that I can't see that there is a major problem when your senior QB allows himself to get into the situation he is in. It shows poor leadership and horrendous decision making skills. Jefferson threw himself under the bus by allowing himself to be in his current situation. I think most are just very very disappointed and know that from all appearances it really doesn't look good.
i agree. things just are not adding up and we have only really heard one side so far. and i think that side is trying desperately to cover their own asses. i just do not buy that the fb players went on a murderous rampage as is being portrayed.
I wouldn't be surprised to see CLM come down hard on all those who broke curfew (More so obviously on any that were actually involved in the brawl). They violated his TRUST and that my friends is not good in any way shape or form. From the way he has spoken in the past about this year's team it was obvious that he liked it and thought a lot of the players, especially the leadership that had come forward. The fact that a number of the "Leadership Unity Council" were involved has got to be especially disapointing to him as it is to me.:dis: As we used to say in the military: "One aw sh*t can wipe out hudreds of attaboys."
The smoke is coming from the internet wires. So if JJ was returning for his senior year as a top 5 Heisman candidate would you make the same statements? If you respond that a QB that good wouldn't have been there I will ask if you think people like Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger never broke curfew.
