this page looks really nice and I am glad to be here. I do not see ads though because I use ad blocker software. maybe others can do the same if the ads bother them. anyway, thanks for the great site!
Or maybe you can let the ads show. It's how the site is paid for. If everyone uses ad blocker software the site won't survive. Thanks for the kind words but ad blockers aren't very well liked by people who use advertising to provide the quality software, services and content people want.
We are in the process of adding sponsors. But in the end, it's all the same. Organizations and businesses pay for everything in return for their banners being displayed. I know you were only trying to help and I've used banner blocker in the past myself. It's just a matter of us explaining the situation and asking our users to support the site and our advetisers by not using banner blockers. There was a great article written by By Ken Fisher at http://arstechnica.com that explains how important it is for users of a website to not use ad blockers.
Plus the ads on here are not intrusive anyway. It's not like there are popups or stuff that tricks you into thinking it's part of the site so you click on it.
well i disabled ad blocker for this site. it's a nice place and i am happy to have found it. hope it helps!
no problem. i really had no idea that using blocker prevent site from making money off add. always thought you had to click them!
Brett, First of all, let me say thank you for providing a great site. I really like the new look and feel, etc. I have one quick question, though. You state that the site will no longer take contributions, but when I try to access the "College Sports" forum, I get a message that I need to be a contributor to access that site. Is that forum simply no longer around?
