If the helmet was matched with gold pants like the Saints wear, and a royal purple jersey with white/gold trim, I agree that would look sharp.

The only problem is, it would not look like the LSU tigers any more.

I think that it would be cool if LSU wore the white helmets and gold jerseys. Not that it matters any what colors we wear...

Echoing the sentiments of everyone else in this thread, I think the athletic administration under Bertman hasn't messed with LSU football tradition nearly enough as it is, so yea, I think it'd be a great idea to start experimenting with new uniform ideas. I hated having the best looking uniform in college football for the last 50 years anyway.

Anyway, back to the original question- not sure if it is true, but it would not be a bad idea for Croom. Playing on what will probably be a very hot, muggy night, given the choice wouldn't' you rather have your team wear all white and force the other to wear dark purple?

That helmets is tight. I wish we would wear that helmet with the yellow jerseys more....kinda get tired of seeing the same uniform all the time.

I would love to see some new Uni's as well, maybe not way different but it's good to have just a few minor changes between certain uniforms.

Another thing, I thought the road team had the choice of what color Uni's to wear? I remember with Oregon State they wanted to wear white so we let them and we wore purple for them. I don't know if it's an actual rule but the home team normally doesn't wear white but LSU is one of the exceptions to that...

That's is why we should go with white pants, gold jerseys (not nearly as hot as purple jerseys on a muggy night) and white helmets, plus it looks sharp IMO
