The part where the big-money boosters were actually prepared to put up $15M+ of their money for Les' buyout. Of course a lot of average fans didn't jump off the "fire Les" bandwagon until after Bama. But the idea that the real movers and shakers have this money sitting in a big pile waiting for the right time to strike is ridiculous.
And quite frankly, if there's idiots like that pulling the LSU pursestrings, OC is the least of our problems. I don't buy it either...sounds like rant philosophy 101.
if we could get anybody i would want it to be Harsin. Yea Boise doesn't play a hard schedule but that offense is insane and he seems to have done a good job at developing Kellen Moore.
I said this before, maybe in another thread. I think Mangino would be a great hire, however there is no way he would finish the season without a gastric bypass operation, and that would only delay the inevitable. He would eat himself into a very colorful explosion, a human supernova if you will. It just will not work out.
Boise has had a couple of good running backs - most notably Ian Johnson. And when he's had good running backs he has run the ball as well as passed. The Boise offense is not pass first or pass only. Hell they averaged 200 rushing yards a game this season, and since harsin has been there the lowest Rush ypg was 153 in 2007. Every other year they have averaged at least 180, with more than 200 twice.
This year's team was centered around Kellen Moore and the passing game. That they rushed well also is impressive, and is directly related to the fact that they were a pass first team. Not really my point though. That is a system offense, and LSU is going to be a straight up run it down your throat team. They will pass when necessary, but it will be because they can run that they are able to pass. Not the other way around. And all this is just my opinion, but again, I get that opinion from the clear signs that are out there.
