Like Drc said... He wants to prove himself as a true DC, not just a puppet of Saban. Also, doesn't he have some ties to Auburn? Once he proves himself as a DC, with NFL experience, and without Saban, he can start seriously being considered for a head coaching position.
He got his Masters from Auburn and coached there as a grad assistant back in the mid 90's. He definately has some ties there.
I suspected he would get the job but holy shiat...that was fast. Makes me think this has been in the works for a while.
And with Whitt moving up we may get a new DB Coach also. This is like getting 2 5 ***** recruits, though I have never had a problem with Whitt, I think he is great. carnellisanescalade Registered User Posts: 1762 (2/3/06 1:24:27 pm ) Reply HUGE news on the new DC/LB coach/CB coach I have information that Muschamp is going to become DC/LB coach and that Chuck Pagano is going to become DB's and Special Teams Coordinator. This isn't for sure, but this is the direction that it seems to be heading
Why should you be surprised Terry are you just another bama fan in denial? Anyone who was following the wind blowing rumors could see this as a real possibilty. Those who dismissed it were being nieve. I said yesterday not to dismiss this because it sure made a lot of sense for both sides. If they get this other guy from the Raiders, oh my, Aubarn just upgraded their coaching staff in a huge way. Say what you want about tubbo but he always seems to hit a home run when you least expect it.
