Errr...TB now saying Bill Clay will be DC, Miles offered Muschamp a position coaching spot. Not likely to accept it - probably off to Miami with Saban. Kirby Smart was offered a job, no word on any others.
All I can say is, Clay better bring one of those UAB/SMU #1-10 ranked defenses to town, or there is going to be hell to pay.

I think that's what everybody was thinking, but not hoping for. Just hope we still have an attacking-style D, and not a laid-back passive one.
Infuriating! ...understandable, but still I'm angry. However I am not as mad as I would have been had this come out yesterday. After looking over Clay's defensive record he does seem capable of putting together a top ranked defense - it's just the inconsistency with which he's done it is disconcerting. Like Miles, I'l give him a shot - it shouldn't be as hard for the kids to learn his system. As far as I can tell, it is less complex in terms of down/distance situational calls. Also, the kids have played it a lot under Saban already, albeit under different technique coaching in all likelihood.
Oh, didn't notice it was a Philter post... he is usually pretty accurate so... doesnt look good for our suffocating D.
