this LSU basketball team is the most talented team since we had stro, jsmith, ct3, dupree, bright, roland, beshara, and jwill (looking back at that, WOW) with that being said, please keep in mind we have pretty much 3 freshman on the court at all times right now, Lazare is a junior & is playing substantially better than he did coming in as a freshman...next year as a senior he could be a serious role player and a starter based on the development i've seen from him he deserves to start over Thomas right now ... it's VERY obvious thomas is the most talented, but lazare is simply making less mistakes right now trust me when i say this, when it's crunch time against uconn, ohio state, niowa, cincy, and SEC play it's going to be 1 - tack 2 - dmitch 3 - tmitch 4 - davis 5 - thomas rolle has some serious defensive upside to get some late minute PT and lazare will fill in nicely without losing much on offense ... voogd and temple are good enough to give dmitch and tack rest but dmitch is so well conditioned i think he could play 40 a game and never get tired so we'll see how brady handles that i even think johnson is going to be an SEC star when he bulks up and has a couple of years of experience looks like an exciting year for LSU basketball
It'll be exciting if they learn to actually play basketball. They know how to run up and down the court and jack up shots, but can they slow it down enough to actually get things done. They turned the ball over nearly 30 times last nite. Sure its fun to watch these guys run up and down the court, but if they dont win, it wont matter.
I definitely think Tyrus (T-Time) should be starting and playing more, but I do agree with his sometimes poor decision making. When he tried to dunk on the whole team from the free throw line against Houston, what was he thinking? He's definitely a highlight waiting to happen, but maybe he should slow down a little and think a little more. I think Tyrus can definitely be one of the top players in the SEC once SEC plays comes. This guy is a freak.
ok, ok everybody who is saying stuff about Temple needs to slow down. Temple, Thomas, Big Baby, and Tasmin all played together on the same team when they were younger (AAU ball), and they have a chemistry together that you cant coach. Everybody is quick to say when Tack comes back... Like Tack is the answer (U cant be seriuos) are did you forget who last year was a consistent liablity to LSU basketball (Turnovers, bad shots, bad attitude, just not coachable). No, Temple is not quick and exciting to watch, but he plays smart basketball, and that is what you want from your guards. No, Temple can't score like D-Mitch can, but between D-Mitch, Big Baby, Tasmin, and Thomas that should be enough offensive firepower. He is also 6'5 without Temple in the lineup at a guard position you will have 2 midgets in the back court. Temple is long and he can defend great guards way better than anybody on the team. Temple is not flashy and he wont sell tickets with high flying dunks, or sweet no look passes, but he will sell tickets because LSU will be winning if his in the lineup. You need a big guard to especially if your other guard is REALLY ONLY 5'9.
I hope Garrett can improve and become a real quality point guard for us. I love tall point guards, and I'll never forgive Tack for not passing it to Antonio Hudson or Brandon Bass in the last few seconds of OT against Kentucky in the SEC Tournament. Hudson was WIDE WIDE WIDE open. I still respect Tack Minor, just hoping he improved a lot from last season.
Here's the problem. Temple isn't playing PG, DMitch is. You must have a scorer playing the 2, which is DMitch. I'm not sure why Temple is not playing PG, other than the fact Brady must not think he can handle that position right now. If Temple can't play PG, he will not help this team much this year. He was not a scorer in high school and he has not shown any offensive game yet in college. And I agree about Minor ... if he can't handle the role of PG, then this team will struggle this year.
