Went after some white trout this morning and threw 75 in the box quick but the highlight was my oldest catching a 35lb redfish by himself. Only help I gave was at boatside helped him get it in the boat but the whole fight was all him alone. He was pumped. Released it as we just don't eat those big one unless we in a bind ha but he white trout fried up fine for lunch. Got a bunch of deer jerky smoking right now will be ready just before game time tonight.
Are you having the fish mounted? Also I would love to see a video of the boy fighting that fish. Did he have any help or did he do it all by himself?
I find it hard to believe a hunter & gatherer like yourself would throw back 3 meals for the family. Are the bigguns not good to eat?
No video. He did it all solo except actually bringing it in the boat. He couldn't quit get it right to net so I had to just kinda guide the rod sideways to reach the fish but when that I didn't take the rod just swung it
Just don't like the big redfish. I'd keep em if we was hard up for some fish but not when I've got 3 chest freezers full already
