1. Jameis Winston (27 total TDs, 6 Ints, 201.1 QBR) 2. Marcus Mariota (29 total TDs, 0 Ints, 178.5 QBR) 3. Bryce Petty (24 total TDs, 1 Int, 219.0 QBR) 4. Johnny Manziel (35 total TDs, 8 Ints, 185.0 QBR) 5. Teddy Bridgewater (23 Total TDs, 2 Ints, 191.6 QBR) If the top 3 in my list all go undefeated, I think Petty takes it because he will probably have the best year overall statistically. It would be a 3 way race, about as close a race as we have ever had if that happens. Petty will have to lead an offense having to score nearly 50 points per game in almost every game from here on out, against the likes of Oklahoma, Texas Tech, @Oklahoma State, @TCU and Texas. Petty has played one less game than Winston and Mariota.
If the top 3 win out it'll either be Winston or Mariota just because they're considered the best players on the best teams. Seastrunk will always steal some of Petty's thunder. And I think Bridgewater is out of it unless he plays lights out to finish the season. As much I hate to say it, McCarron has a chance to play his way into that top 5 if he closes out strong and someone like Manziel or Petty falters. Hopefully we will end the discussion for both AJ and Manziel. Even though Winston made a couple mistakes against Miami he was as poised as you could ask a QB to be and flat out lead his team. His energy is contagious and that team will be hard to beat as long as he stays humble. That kid has the talent and demeanor to be a CFB legend when he leaves. Mariota's numbers might be better come season's end based on TD:INT ratio, but the fact that Winston plays in a pro-style offense putting up those kind of numbers while making those kind of throws, he'll win running away. I think Mariota is great for that offense. Really one of the best spread QBs ever. But I don't think he's a better QB than Winston. Add to the fact that Winston is a Freshman and his story is just better.
I don't think AJ belongs in the conversation. He's decent and he wins a lot of games, but Heisman material, he ain't. Not by a long shot.
The only way Baylor wins 4 of it's next 5 games is by outscoring the opponent, maybe having to score 50+ every time (TCU being the exception). If Petty does that and they are undefeated. I can't see how he doesn't win the Heisman.
WTF is wrong with you. 1. OBJ 2. Landy 3. Hill 4. Loston 5. Welter Loston has made 17 fewer mistakes than Welter.
