Izzy beat me to the comment ... bad elephant ... cue in icon with stick beating arse You've met your match ... pakiederm ... and Saban is sweating bullets over this game ... cuz he knows ha can't stop this LSU offense for four quarters and he knows he can't face this LSU dee & come out unscathed And he's got the deep threat to worry about! Hell, Ole Piss and TN had you knotted up at halftime ... :insane: LSU gonna run for at least 150 ... they did near 250 last year ... and that's way more than they need with an efficient passing attack, an opportunistic defense and a special teams ... LSU gonna take and take and take and Bama gonna break and break and break
This is so true - 280 lbs of LB buster bro ! Bama has the problem in the 1st half because your going to get Ware and Hillard back to back. What people are going to see is a Bama D fold and points going on the board. LSU gets 10 pts up on the gumps Nick is going to stick with the only thing he knows. Results will be 3 and outs. Bama has one major concern that they can't do one thing about. At QB they have not one big game to fall back on. LSU has 2 QBs that have been to war and know what to expect. Bama is bringing a knife to a gun fight and the entire college football world is going to watch. This is the night that Nick fell down and I can't get up!!!! He will be pissed - yelling - but still losing ! Bama had a A team in 2010 and LSU had the B team. In 2010 our staff put together a plan to beat the A team. This year LSU has the A team and Bama with the B team will have to do the samething. We shall see LSU - 31 Bama - 17
What team did Bama face with a true balanced threat? To me the only legit offense was Arkansas and they're a passing offense.
Same can be said about LSU... when have they faced a POWER rushing game? That has been my worry all year because Miles likes an undersized, speedy defense. If I am CNS, I would go 2-tight all day and try to just run over LSUs undersized LBs and DEs.
I think the difference will be in our offensive versatility. ANY run game can be significantly hindered!! Period. The trick is to not short the other offensive weapons. This is where, IMO, LSU has the advantage. Bama and LSU have power run games. Bama's big plays are dependent on T.R. breaking through the line and scampering for yardage. McCarron is good, but he doesn't have the down field threats to work with, nor does he have experience with the scenario. OTOH .. LSU's big plays are the down field threats. Our run game is the background noise ... it's just always there, but never breaks the big play. Hence ....a 9 min TD drive!! SO .. if you hinder the run game for Bama, you also hinder their big plays. If you hinder the run game of LSU, you've done nothing to the big play. Jarret Lee vs McCarron is going to be huge in this game!!!!
The advantage stopping the run that the extra weight that Bama's linebackers carry is a liability when they have to drop into coverage . . . and you can bet that LSU plans to match some fast and shifty receivers against Alabama's linebackers. Their speed and momentum getting to the ball can be used against them in misdirection plays. Where were Bama's linebackers on the reverse that lost them them the game last year? Behind the play, that's where.
The Crimson Tide is twice as likely to throw on first down as the Tigers. Bama has completed 71 of 101 passes (.703) on first down. Those attempts account for 43% of the teams total passes and 40.1% of their first down plays have been passes. LSU has completed 36 of 51 passes (.706) on first down. Those attempts account for 29% of their passes and 21.7% of their first down plays have been passes. Alabama is averaging 7.5 yards per carry on first down rushing attempts, 2.78 yards more per carry then LSU. When you think versatility, think Bama.
