1. slants are his thang, it just's favre'sque and they usually leave an indention on the back of our WR's as they usually penetrate their chests or break a few fingers.
  2. May wanna tell your boys to group tackle him then :hihi:
  3. Perferated recievers work well for us... LOL
  4. does anyone else think that the slant's gonna be open for bowe for like the first quarter, and then a big post corner or a seam route will open up for him deep?

I just see us getting a cheap td on a long pass to bowe, set up by a few short ones... and I see bama getting a score or two off of turn overs..

skyler green wont be a factor because they'll wisely kick away from him...

I think justin vincent has a better game than addai... lsu stands a better chance of spreading the field and using speed to gain a few extra yards per run, than going up the middle on this defense... not that addai's a power runner, but I feel like vincent works better out of the shotgun.
  5. If Addai is 100% healthy, he'll play just about all the snaps. I'm not sure I understand your point about "using speed", but Addai is faster than Vincent and runs well in open space. Addai is also better at catching the ball and we could have some success slipping him out of the backfield.

I think this game comes down to running the ball with some success. We could be in for a long day if we are consistently in 2nd/3rd and long situations. I don't know if we can just line up and run right at them, but we should be able to gain some yards out of a spread formation.

I just hope this isn't the game when our penalties and turnovers bite us in the ass...
  6. I was talking about the defenses Bama's offense has faced....in other words, the fact that their offense hasn't put up a touchdown in like 3 or 4 SEC games and our defense will be the toughest they've faced. As long as we don't give Bama's defense the ball (turnovers) and put their offense in good field position we will be fine.
  7. I think we have to limit Darby to 50-70 yards and not let them establish a running game. LSU has leaked a good bit against a quality run offense. If they establish their running games, the play action pass, Brodie's quick release and decision making, couple with 5-10 passes will be the problem for LSU. Shut the run down and bring good blitzes and LSU should win.

On the other side of the Ball, JR will have to be able to read for the blitzes and see them coming while in the pocket. We must establish a running game because if not, they will bring the blitzes and JR will get a little rattled. When he is not comfortable in the back field he just can't get it together. If that happens I hope the play calling goes to passing quick outs and an occasional screen. The one thing lacking in the LSU offense are quick 3 step drop and quick passes. I think we may need to utilize the quick drop and quick outs.
  8. I worry about turnovers. Then when bama is making them who needs to worry.
