Well, I was teammates with Nicky Savoie, Ryan Thomassie and Eric Griffin at South Lafourche High and we played against Rondel Mealey.... Ahhhhh those were the days..
Never played against Kevin Faulk, but I do have the honor of seeing him play in high school (my dad, uncle and I went to watch Faulk and Carencro take on Catholic High of BR. Then, of course, I saw him at LSU and 4 years ago, when I first moved up here, I got to see him play for the first time as a Patriot.
That was during my high school days. My dad and I went to most of East Ascension's games. EA lost badly to Carencro in the playoffs to one of Faulk's teams. We also saw many extremely talented Catholic High teams during those years. EA did make it to the state semis during my senior year tho!
i'm pretty sure we may have been on the same team in some old backyard football games at my place?! Never know though :rofl: And I remember Mealey... The results to that contest didn't go as we planned
Do you know a guy from EA named Chadwick Wilson? He ended up being a squadman at UL-Lafayette? I played against him and ended up working with him one summer and got to be pretty good friends. Nice guy--always willing to talk sports. And very competitive too! LOL! He kept wanting to race me after work because he found out that when I was 15, I ran in summer track and finished 7th in the 400m at the Hershey's Louisiana State Track Meet. ...never took him up on his challenge though....he would have SMOKED me!
i went to the same high school as Tyrus Thomas, (McKinley Senior High) in fact i had gym with him, 3 years ago when i was a freshman and when he was a junior he was good back then but i had no idea he was such a highly touted bball player i played 21 a couple times against him, and i guess u could figure out that he owned me every time, he was sweet in like all sports
