College Football has a mission this year

They must annoint the whiners from USC with an undisputed NC. It's their HOLY GRAIL.

So, let's change the rules to make the USC trip as easy as possible :hihi:

Let's put USC in an Orange Bowl with an undefeated Louisville this year :hihi: ... They can't get away with this in 2004 though they'd love to.

Let 'em cheat and try all the short cuts ... let 'em play pros like Mike Williams

Head to head, LSU will slaughter USC ... I pray for any poor bunch o' bastids that have to play Saban after he has a plan and a month of practice with a team full of future pros

When the major football conferences see that they are ranked behind schools playing patsy schedules, the strength-of-schedule and quality games consideration will be back. No way the SEC gets three top-10 teams again if there is no SOS calculation. Its a free ride for independents and minor conference schools.

The BCS worked as promised last time. But the media only votes for the home-town teams that they see. Is there more media in Baton Rouge or Los Angeles? And the coaches votes are biased based on the teams they played or are in competition with. The polls will always be subjective and should never rate more than 49% of the BCS formula.

The conference championship scenario is something we all have to live with. The PAC 10 and Big 10 didn't want to have one and have that right. Just because the SEC, Big 12 and ACC decided they wanted the revenue from a conference CG doesn't mean that we should force it down the others throats. The SEC probably looked at the scenario before they went to a conference CG and decided what was best for them even though they knew this could happen. The worse thing about the SEC CG IMO is that it also knocks a BCS eligible bowl team out of the BCS in some years, like last season. UGA not making the BCS cost the SEC 13 million smackaroos minus what the SEC CG and UGA's bowl appearance brought in.

That's right ... 13 millyun semolyuns ... and the SEC won't take too much of that ****tttttttttttttttttt

Watch 'em vote to eliminate a conference championship if USC wins a NC with a cupcake schedule

So, if the "new" system would have been used last year, LSU would have stomped USC in the Sugar Bowl instead of OU. Actually, that would have only HELPED us because it would have ended the controversy about a "split" national championship. Let those teams who play only one preseason ranked team into the BCS title game. Then let's see who the real champion is.

The SEC Championship game brings in over 12 million dollars by itself - almost as much as a BCS Bowl and over double as much as the largest non-BCS bowl. From a financial standpoint, the conferences without championship games are missing out on a huge chunk of change.

good point ... forgot about the SECCG $$$$$$ ...

yeah, what a quandry the BIG BOYS are in ... but what can the BIG BOYS do about punks like USC ... it's almost as bad and distasteful as the NOTRE DAME CRAPPOLA "rammed down our throats" used to be.

So let's go ahead and imagine the Pac-10 has a CG this year. You really think that USC playing a piss poor Oregon State or Cal or Arizona St. team a 2nd time would have any different outcome?

They would have that much more ammunition to claim their phantom NC.

What about this new wrinkle that allows, even mandates, a non BCS team into the Rose Bowl?

    http://www.sportsline.com/collegefootball/story/7550630

Wouldnt it just be hilarious if like Ohio St or even Mich is number 1 and USuCk was stuck in the Rose Bowl playing Marshall or Miami (Ohio) or TCU or some other second tier team? That would be priceless.
