How is it news that five people got shot in New Orleans?

This is beyond assinine. Imagine what the Guardsmen are thinking! Is THIS what they signed up for??

Shhhhh! It's shocking! Shocking she said! Such things never have happened in N.O. in the past!

Yep, Blanco may give Hillary a run for her money in '08.

In a similar story, the lunatic mayor of Jackson has been wanting to declare a state of emergency due to crime and call in the national guard. The governor and the Adjutant General of the MS guard have basically said he is an idiot. Now the mayor is claiming he can use the guard at the air base in Jackson without the authorization of the governor. I'm sure this will only add fuel to the idiot's fire. This country is going straight to hell in a hurry.

    Welcome to New Fallajah, Louisiana!
Its funny how Democrats complain about Iraq and other places and they can't
even control a city in Louisiana, New Orleans!

Its a shame special treatment has also been given to McKinney (D)
She hit a cop and admitted it and she wasn't found guilty.
Cops are starting to fight back here!

BTW Its too bad Katrina didn't wipe out every thug in New Orleans!

NoLimit, It always makes the news when the National Guard is deployed for whatever purpose.
Otherwise it wouldn't have made national news.

PS Nagan can have his chocolate city if its going to be like this!
    Nobody else would want this!

Five murders at one time in one place will always make national news. This is the most violent single crime in Nola in over 10 years. It has become increasingly evident that the city is under-policed at the present time. While it is terrible that the drug dealers are coming back and fighting turf wars, it is applaudable that something is being done to curb the violence. Unfortunately this amounts to putting a band-aid on a gun shot. The National Guard won't do much as long as the Judges in New Orleans (especially Elwa) continue to let criminals out on low bonds to commit more crimes.

Lifted this quote from The Advocate:
Heh, this fool thinks it's not out of control, but yet he needs national guard troops. Also, he has 25% less police officers but they have 50% less population. So they actually have more officers per capita than they had before Katrina.

This dude needs to be canned...

But they still have to patrol the same physical area because the people are spread out. A bigger problem with the New Orleans Police is corruption and incompetence. Been that way for a long time. They brought in an outsider to be police chief and clean it up but they quickly got rid of him because he was cleaning it up.
