Can Jennings throw? And I watched a little of Rettig and he definitely looks more mobile than our current QB, but I'm not sure if we don't need an actual dual threat qb, not like JJ he was dual shit. A guy that can connect on opportunities through the air and make plays through the air because he is a threat to run, like Robert Griffin. It's a recipient for disaster in the NFL, but this isn't the NFL.
Maybe you are Kirby Smarter than I am, but I hadn't heard of this dude until Saban hired him. Saban helped in making this guy a big name. Chavis was well established.
Does anyone know it Rettig is in classes today? wasn't he supposed to be in today?....where you at bhelm??
he's in class. this was tweeted this morning by WR Avery Peterson (formerly Avery Johnson): @haydenrettig11 Sitting next to my QB in Class Right Now Dude Funny
what isn't a stretch is that they are both among the only 17 QBs in the 2013 class to be ranked a 4-star or higher by each of the four major recruiting services (Rivals, Scout, ESPN, 247). here's the full list of the 17: SEC Anthony Jennings, LSU Hayden Rettig, LSU Cooper Bateman, Alabama Brice Ramsey, Georgia Jeremy Johnson, Auburn Kohl Stewart, Texas A&M Big Ten Christian Hackenberg, Penn State Shane Morris, Michigan J.T. Barrett, Ohio State Matthew Alviti, Northwestern Pac Max Browne, Southern Cal Troy Williams, Washington Jared Goff, Cal ACC Kevin Olsen, Miami Big XII Cody Thomas, Oklahoma Other Malik Zaire, Notre Dame Asiantii Woulard, undecided JJ was a 3-star by Scout. Shepard wasn't ranked a dual-threat QB by ESPN, he was ranked as an ATH (similar to Texas QB commit Tyrone Swoopes of this class, some have him as a dual-threat QB, some as an ATH). As for how our QB recruits stack up in the recruiting rankings again each other: this is how Rivals graded them as recruits: 5.9 -- Anthony Jennings 5.9 -- Hayden Rettig 5.9 -- Rob Bolden 5.8 -- Zach Mettenberger 5.8 -- Jarrett Lee 5.8 -- Jordan Jefferson 5.8 -- Zach Lee 5.8 -- Jerrard Randall 5.7 -- Stephen Rivers 5.7 -- Chris Garrett and this is how ESPN graded them as recruits: 83 -- Anthony Jennings 83 -- Hayden Rettig 81 -- Zach Mettenberger 81 -- Rob Bolden 81 -- Jarrett Lee 80 -- Jordan Jefferson 80 -- Zach Lee 80 -- Jerrard Randall 78 -- Chris Garrett 76 -- Stephen Rivers
It's a pretty safe bet to say that Miles will squander away their talent. Wait for it. It will happen. It matters not what we, the Les Miles detractors, say.
We all know that you love tooting that ole horn for Les Miles. Don't be too disappointed when you see more of the same. It's not at all negative to make the assertion that things will remain the same offensively, it's simply a statement of reality.
