...to 128 teams. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060625/ap_on_sp_co_ne/bkc_ncaa_tournament;_ylt=At1su565.hiw2LvwAefLOaIVr7sF;_ylu=X3oDMTA0cDJlYmhvBHNlYwM- That would be just awful. 64 plus the play in game is just perfect. Part of this whole discussion was brought on by ESPN's favorite league, the ACC, only getting 4 bids last season. If worthy teams are being left out, expand to 4 play in games and make sure that at least half of the teams are from power conferences playing those games.
Awful. They would have to put the whole ACC, SEC, Big East in there. Can you imagine a 16 seed being a favorite.
it indeed would be awful the only thing that I would do is put a play-in game in all 4 brackets to get a few more bubble teams in, but to put 128 is just plain stupid no one can ever say that a bubble team would have been the national champion if they would have made it in, so I don't know the reasoning behind this If teams are 'that good', they wouldn't be on the bubble in the 1st place
the regular season is becoming completely useless... the conference tourneys are all that matter now... especially in the small conferences... you can win the sun belt regular season by 10 games, but if you lose the conference final, you don't get an invite..
