One other edge for the Gators. I don't need to remind you who's on the sidelines wearing a headset for the Hogs.
well i just exchanged msgs with Philter on another thread and he seems to think Florida may hold a slight financial edge over LSU going to the Rose Bowl. So I think we just need Florida to win and get into the Sugar, then the Rose is all ours.
I'm so damned confused by all the hypothetical scenarios I've got a headache. I'll wait for you to sort it out for us after the USC - ND game tonight.
So here is my final projection of who to pull for. Notre Dame blows out USC. LSU will pass USC in the BCS standings. 1. Ohio State 2. Michigan 3. Notre Dame 4. Florida 5. LSU 6. USC Then Florida winning or losing won't matter next week. LSU will either finish #4 in the BCS (with a Florida loss) or get in as an at-large with a Florida win (Florida goes to Sugar as SEC Champs). That's the absolute clearest I can illustrate it.
The only problem with that scenario is I don't think the Irish will beat USC, much less blow 'em out.
No matter what scenario arises, the Rose Bowl is guaranteed to control the selection: Should USC win out, the Rose Bowl gets to select both of their teams before any other bowl gets to make a selection. Should USC lose one of its last 2 games, then the Rose Bowl gets the first selection, which will USC's opponent, since USC is automatically assigned to the Rose Bowl as Pac 10 Champs. This is a good thing. We don't want the control to be in the Orange Bowls' hands. And there is no way possible for that to happen. LSU in the Rose Bowl. My percentage just went up from 80 percent to 82.7 percent (just a good feeling adjustment).
